  • In August 2012, the developers took on an alternative approach to the DLC model embraced by many other Rhythm Games on "smart" platforms: the Million Downloads plan. Every 100,000 downloads, a new chapter would be revealed, and the chapter that's three chapters behind would be unlocked for all players rather than requiring a 4.99 USD payment. The ultimate goal was to reach 1 million downloads so that all chapters (except for Prologue and Retro) would be available for all players. That goal was met two years later, in March 2014. As gratitude for accomplishing the Million Downloads plan, Rayark released a new chapter, Chapter M, for free, consisting of mashup arranges of various Cytus songs.
  • So you open up Chapter 10 and what's the first song that pops up? "FREEDOM DiVE", which you may recognize (and possibly soil yourself over) if you've played Lunatic Rave 2 or osu!!. And just like its incarnations in those games, it is one of the most challenging songs in the entire game.
  • Chapter R features a chiptune edit of "conflict". It seems like an Anti-Climax Boss at first, as it sounds simpler than the original version and is only level 7 on Hard. But if you tap the "conflict" logo 13 times, the splash screen changes and lo and behold, it's the original version of "conflict", with a level 9 Hard chart! It's about the closest you'll get to a True Final Boss in Cytus.
  • Chapter L, a Concept Album chapter with a fleshed-out story, and brutally challenging songs, all rated 9 on both difficulties, with the Hard charts going above and beyond all of the other challenges the game has to offer to push even the most dedicated players to their limits.
