Gardener, a no-name who is never mentioned again in either book, gets one when he manages to break out forty supervillains from a Super Max prison for Supers. Using moss and a knowledge of plumbing.
Subverted with Mechani-Cal's No-Holds-Barred Beatdown of the Biloxi Bugler. Despite winning handling, Cal realizes it's a hollow victory since the Bugler is a Cool Old Guy and exactly the opposite sort of person from the superheroes he's grown to hate.
Secrets of A D-List Supervillain contains the following examples:
Cal in the suit that would become Mega versus Imaginary Larry, the telekinetic strong enough to regularly beat Ultraweapon in simulations, and who has to be worn down by the entire team of Olympians over the course of a few hours. This fight takes minutes.
Cal does alone what the two most powerful human mages in the world couldn't do together: restore Andydroid.
