Confessions of A D-List Supervillain contains the following examples:

  • Mechani-Cal's battle with Ultraweapon at the climax of the book, culminating in his seeming Heroic Sacrifice. Of course, it was mostly meant as a means of getting him off the superhero payroll when he clearly wasn't suited for the lifestyle.
  • Cal is the only person in the world who can save the world after it's been taken over, which he does, despite being a D-List supervillain no one takes seriously.
  • Aphrodite, always considered the Ms. Fanservice of the Olympians, uses her new armor created by Cal to beat up Hera and Athena simultaneously—both being two of the strongest superheroines in the world.
  • Cal's rematch with the bug-controlled Olympians. A team of humans with the powers of the Greek pantheon versus one washed-up villain with the first new armor he's made in two years. They beat him, but it went so badly for them that someone calls in most of the team later in the book when they're worried Cal might throw a tantrum.
  • Cal's vindication when his memoirs were released. A lot of heroes got a needed look at themselves from the outside perspective.
  • Doubles as a Funny Moment. Cal and Whirl-Wendy are able to defeat Imaginary Larry, a mentally-ill "villain" who has beaten the entire Olympians team by himself, by pretending to be his basketball coach and said coach's hot daughter.

Origins of A D-List Supervillain contains the following examples:

  • Gardener, a no-name who is never mentioned again in either book, gets one when he manages to break out forty supervillains from a Super Max prison for Supers. Using moss and a knowledge of plumbing.
  • Subverted with Mechani-Cal's No-Holds-Barred Beatdown of the Biloxi Bugler. Despite winning handling, Cal realizes it's a hollow victory since the Bugler is a Cool Old Guy and exactly the opposite sort of person from the superheroes he's grown to hate.

Secrets of A D-List Supervillain contains the following examples:

  • Cal in the suit that would become Mega versus Imaginary Larry, the telekinetic strong enough to regularly beat Ultraweapon in simulations, and who has to be worn down by the entire team of Olympians over the course of a few hours. This fight takes minutes.
  • Cal does alone what the two most powerful human mages in the world couldn't do together: restore Andydroid.
