  • The success of the Patreon Campaign is one for both the show and especially its fans. Changes to the YouTube ad revenue model made it too difficult for Mark to rely on ad revenue while continuing the show in its current format, threatening to end the show's daily format at the end of 2015 and force him to return to show to being a hobby as it was in 2007. However, thanks to letters and emails from fans passionately asking him to find some way to keep the show thriving through crowdfunding Mark decided to give Patreon a chance. Within the first day the campaign's launch on January 7th, 2016, it reached its first goal: $5,000 to fund CGR as a part-time job for Mark, ensuring at least 2 reviews a week. On the 15th of that month the $10,000 goal was met, allowing Mark to continue CGR in its full-time format, also making it one of Patreon's biggest success stories, even earning it a mention in Forbes!
  • This Badass Boast Mark made when said funding goal was reached.

Mark: Classic Game Room continues to fight the future. I won't stop until everything is covered in wood grain and children sing the delightful melodies of Duran Duran while waving light sabers in the air as Truxton showers the awestruck masses with happy dust and Mike and Ikes.
  • This update video, where Mark reiterates his mission statement of documenting, reviewing, and preserving classic video games in the best quality he can. Stating that in the last few years when Youtube promotes clickbait, scream cams, and sensationalism, Mark uses his background in filming to create videos with attention to detail that cost him money out of his pockets simply because he can't stand anything less from himself. He's made recuts of his videos for Patrion users, ad-free content, and defending use of crowd-funding to make movie-length reviews sold on physical disks with quality packaging, artwork, and carts of the games he's reviewing to fund his channel. And the best part is, the like-to-dislike ratio majorly favors his stance and convinced some viewers skeptical of his practices that he just cares that much about what he does.
