No film about a half-alligator boy is complete without some moments of triumph. A heaping pound of his homeward journey while making friends definitely has its time to shine.

• Bertie's introduction. Her very first instance in the film is punching Ruff and Stucky out of nowhere so Arlo can escape; she then stares them down with a brief Between My Legs shot and all but states that they're asking for pain if they try anything.
  Bertie: You two better stay down if you want to see tomorrow.
  • Right after this, she helps Arlo escape the poachers by hitching a ride on the train to Alabama.
  • She gets another moment when she busts into the barn in Alabama to save Arlo from angry farmers.
  Bertie: Why don't you pick on someone TWICE your size?
• Furlecia's Establishing Character Moment, where she is shown wrestling a mean barn folk while putting on the sass.
• Although not seen, Arlo using his alligator skills to break Marcellus out of the aquarium really came in handy.
• Tony willing to help Arlo get to Ansel by getting info from his lackey, who apparently knows who lives where. Evidently, Tony has more than a few connections across New York.
• Bertie's inspirational words to Arlo, which in turn breaks him out of his Heroic BSoD and gives him more hope to reconnect with Ansel at the Met Gala that night.
• Ansel's breakdown the moment he lets Arlo get captured by Ruff and Stucky. Realizing how his childhood hang-ups and desire to be seen as “respectable” and normal” led him to abandon his son twice, he finally decides to reveal the truth about himself.
• Ansel's big reveal. After hiding his identity as a bird man for far too long, he decides to no longer suppress himself and let the world see who he really is. He rips off his pants to expose his bird legs, steps into the full light, and spreads his wings, letting everyone in attendance see him for who he really is.
  • Before the reveal, Ansel literally swoops in to rescue Arlo from Ruff and Stucky, and Arlo is by no doubt completely bewildered as Ansel flies him back to the stage.
• The ending. Instead of demolishing Seaside by the Seashore, Ansel decides to let Arlo and the gang rebuild it and reopen it in its former glory, and make it their home. After everything, Arlo has finally come home for good.
