Amnesia: The Bunker is set in a abandoned bunker, during WW1, with a dangerous monster trapped inside, and also trapped within the bunker is a soldier who with enough skill and determination, will not go down so easily...

The Prologue

  • in the first playable part of the game, when Henri finds a revolver, and goes near a certain point of the trench, several German soldiers ambush him and attack him. He can either shoot at the soldiers himself or wait for Lambert to come to the rescue, after which point Lambert tells him to move on ahead.
    • Lambert does it again when Henri ends up trapped in a trench where gas grenades are thrown in, but before he gets too sick, Lambert shows up and gives him a gas mask to put on, and Henri follows him to safety.
  • When Henri finds his friend Lambert and tries lifting him out of the pit to safety, the German soldiers spot them and fire mortar shells at them. But while Henri is knocked unconscious, it is Lambert who lifts Henri to safety and brings him back to the bunker. While unfortunately, it was an side effect as a result of the contaminated water that gave Lambert this immense strengthnote , it was still cool of him to do that.

The Game

  • The fact alone, that unlike other games in the franchise, The Bunker allows you fight back against the monster. Repeat: fight back against the monster. With not just any weapons, but a revolver, grenades, and a shotgun. And it is so satisfying to see the monster whimper and run away after shooting it...
    • And an villainous example for the Beast too: It is immune to every shot it takes, and while that makes it much scarier, it also shows just how strong it is too.
  • It is a testament of pure luck that the medical room Henri was in while in his unconscious state, was the only room in the whole bunker that wasn't broken into by the Beast. Maybe the Beast does not attack patients at all...
  • Whenever you make a torch using cloth and a stick, light it, and use it to scare away the rats that are eating the corpses, without having to use grenades to scare them away.
  • Sdt. Toussaint was trapped in the Roman Tunnels, blind, and with only a shotgun, but he somehow managed, to survive in the tunnels for quite some time. It is possible that he lived off of eating rats and the like, but nobody knows...
  • Saving the German Prisoner while also getting the bolt cutters. While it would require a lot of sheer skill and speed; via distracting the Beast while getting the bolt cutters from the cell and closing the cell as quickly as possible, the result would be Worth It. Also qualifies as Heartwarming.
  • The final battle in The Arena. You have to find a way to outsmart the Beast by cranking up the drawbridges and destroying the wooden bridges in order to stop the Beast from coming closer to you. And when the Beast makes a jump to try getting to the ledge, you can bring a shotgun blast to it's face and it will be sent falling down the pit.
    • And even if you fail to kill the Beast and just escape the Arena anyway, you would still fall into the watery corpse-filled pit like usual. Except... the Beast shows up at the edge of the cliff, looking at one direction roaring before running off in the opposite direction of the German soldiers that are heading towards the pit. The implication being that even the Beast got scared off by them.

The Beast Itself

The Beast is widely considered one of the scariest villains of the entire franchise, and for a good reason...

Custom Stories

  • Someone made a mod for the game that basically turns it into Doom, complete with the maps, music, and even the Beasts (yes, there's more of them) are in different colors to match the monsters from the game.
