• Yuzuru sees her sister's bully at the place where she is getting extra ESL help. Her first response, after Shoko runs away, is to get in between them and lie that she is Shoko's boyfriend, complete with a Death Glare, warning Shouya to stay away. To accentuate that she is not bluffing, she posts a photo of him jumping off a bridge so he'll be suspended. It's only when Shouya admits that Yuzuru is right not to trust him that she starts warming up.
• Nagatsuka gets one by lifting Yuzuru, mistaking her for a boy, and asking "him" to stop being mean to Shouya. He's sheepish when Shouya corrects him and puts Yuzuru down.
• Shoya saving Shoko's life when she attempts to commit suicide, at the cost of falling himself and ending up in a coma for two weeks. He doesn't just catch her hand, he encourages her to reach up and pull herself to safety, finally making her see her own worth to others. After years of trying to atone for what he did, this is the act that guarantees he's finally made up for all of his sins.
• Crossing over with Tear Jerker: Shouya telling his group of friends exactly how much he hates their guts is extremely cathartic after chapter after chapter of them not being criticized for their reprehensible actions towards both him and Shouko.
• Crossing over with Funny: Shouko correcting Ueno's sign pronunciation of "moron". What's the sign for "BURN"?
• When Ueno is verbally and physically assaulting Shouko, Shouko's mother shows up and slaps Ueno to rescue her daughter. In the manga, it even turns into a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.
