WARNING!!!! SPOILERS ARE UNMARKED!!!!

  • Shirou kicks off his entry into the DxD world by having a one-on-one duel with Sirzechs, driving the latter into a corner with his Reality Marble. Sirzechs manages to break out (and knock Shirou unconscious) by unleashing his true form, but is badly injured by several of Shirou's blades in the process, with at least one of them giving him a scar. It establishes Shirou as a badass and serves as a reminder that Sirzechs is not someone to take lightly.
  • Shirou, while searching for a bathroom, walks in on a Cthulhu ritual that involves sacrificing children, with the first intended victim's throat about to be slit when he appears. He goes berserk, slaughtering most of the cultists and taking the children back to their respective homes personally, then hunts down and kills the remaining cultists (and everyone connected to them) himself.
  • Shirou's lecture about why using Chess as a basis for how to construct one's Peerage is a bad idea is very enlightening.
    • During said lecture, he outright says that Sona and her Peerage are too weak. Sona immediately becomes defensive towards her Peerage and dares him to repeat that.
  • Shirou No-Selling Gasper's Sacred Gear when they first meet.
  • Shirou nearly destroys the Fake Excalibur, only stopping at Sona's insistence.
  • After seeing Shirou's human nature being untouched by becoming a demon, Kokabiel postpones his plan to incite a war to destroy all three sides, and offers Shirou the chance to kill him in a worthy battle that night.
    • Shirou's entrance into the fight is CMOA-worthy itself, as he gets a Big Damn Heroes moment right when Kokabiel's Host of Fallen Angels enacts the finishing blow against the other fighters, appearing in front of them, and nullifying the endless spears of light thrust at them with Rho Aias. Under the hail of a near-endless wave of spears, the shield of Ajax only lost two petals out of seven.
    • Then, when Kokabiel prepares another wave of spears, thrown from afar, Shirou responds by Tracing thousands of swords and interfering with each divine projectile. When that's finished, he reveals that he still hasn't finished his Aria... and brings out Unlimited Blade Works.
    • Kokabiel and the rest of the people there are stunned by the Reality Marble, and Kokabiel is in awe with how Shirou managed to create a world, something only Gods could do... with just his own soul. Kokabiel declares this this is the light that God saw in humanity, the pinnacle of their potential. Then Shirou denies it, and declares that Kokabiel should know better than anyone that there's always more to humanity.
    • Finally, when Kokabiel knows he's been defeated, Shirou gives him an honorable death. He brings forth the Sword of Promised Victory, the true Excalibur. The Fallen Angels, the agents of the Church, and the combined Peerages of Rias and Sona watch in wonder and see visions of true happiness. Kokabiel faces death with dignity, and is finally put to rest knowing the truth of what God saw in humans.
