Chhota Bheem is an Indian animated series that began in 2008 and airs on Pogo TV. The series is about Bheem and his friends who protect Dholakpur and its royalty from evil.
The series has several spin-offs: Mighty Raju, focusing on the chraacter Raju, set in the present day, Arjun – Prince of Bali, focusing on Prince Arjun, Super Bheem, where Bheem has super powers, Mighty Little Bheem, a prequel where Bheem is a baby, and Chhota Bheem: Kung Fu Dhamaka, focusing on Bheem's adventures in China.
Chhota Bheem provides examples of:
- All-CGI Cartoon: Mighty Little Bheem uses 3D graphics as opposed to the original 2D animation.
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Jaddu the monkey has dark blue fur.
- Animating Artifact: The amulet in "Sabre Toothed Tiger" contains the power of someone who had died long ago, and when it's placed on the skeleton of a saber-toothed tiger the kids find in a desert, the person contained within the amulet possesses it, taking on the life of the once dead tiger.
- Eating Solves Everything: Bheem can eat laddu to make himself stronger and help save the day.
- Holiday Episode: Indian holidays such as Holi and Diwali are celebrated in the series.
- Identical Twin ID Tag: Dholu and Bholu have closely-matching clothes that can be told apart. One has a gray shirt and green pants; the other has a green shirt and gray pants.
- Kid Hero: The main protagonist is Bheem, a hero who's only nine years old.
- The Movie: A few theatrical movies have been made and several movies have been made for television.
- Silence Is Golden: Mighty Little Bheem has no dialogue. It shows how Bheem looks at the world and not what he says about the world.
- Spin-Off: The spin-offs are Mighty Raju, Arjun - Prince of Bali, Super Bheem, Mighty Little Bheem and Chhota Bheem: Kung Fu Dhamaka.
- Team Pet: Jaggu is the team's pet monkey.
- Title Theme Tune: The theme tune constantly repeats, "Chhota Bheem, Chhota Bheem, Chhota Bheem, Chhota Bheem! Bheem, Bheem, Bheem, Chhota Bheem, Chhota Bheem!"
- Trademark Favorite Food: Bheem loves to eat laddu.
- Untranslated Title: The Hindi title Chhota Bheem is kept in the English dub, even though it could've been translated to Little Bheem.
