The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
- Two years after the release of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky First Chapter, the long anticipated and highly acclaimed Second Chapter is slated for a US release! Let's hear it for XSEED Games AND Carpe Fulgur!
- It took a long time but on May 3, 2017, The Third finally came out on PC!
The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure
- After how many years of languishing in No Export for You, we finally have an official release of both Zero
(Fall 2022) and Azure (2023)! Even better, it's the Geofront translations! - Durante's company PH3 is not only handling the PC version of these games, but the Nintendo Switch version as well. With them at the helm, these versions are going to be the definitive editions to play, due to incorporating the QOL changes from the Geofront translations and getting the best graphics assets from all previous releases.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel
- After The 3rd revealed that 'Carnelia' was based on a real person (Ein Selnert) and Ring Of Judgment confirmed that 'Toby' was based on a Bracer named Toval, fans have been hoping he would appear in a game directly. Falcom showed a suspicious silhouette prior to Cold Steel's release, followed shortly by a screenshot showing the man, followed immediately by fan rejoicing.
- Also, the announcement of Cold Steel in general. Falcom has been building up Erebonia as a place to visit since FC, and after Ao's ending, expectations were at an all-time high.
- Cold Steel III is already getting these reactions from fans, especially fans of the Sky trilogy, many of whom were ecstatic to see Agate and a now teenage Tita, with this marking their first appearances since The 3rd.
- In addition, Arianrhod shows up again with all three Stahlritter finally identified, Campanella, McBurn, and Shirley show up as well and Laura and Fie with their new looks.
- Because All Myths Are True in this series, Rose from Red Moon Rose finally appears.
- The official trailer has been released and we already have fans hyped up for the series!
- For those who were worried that they wouldn't be playable, rest assured Olivert and Tio are both playable in this game.
- All three Stahlritter are finally voiced and have their faces appear. And their first impression is to have a nine turn HP recovery and speed buff!
- For those who were worried that the former Class VII members were no longer playable, they are confirmed to be in the party at some point.
- Campanella as a boss fight without Rean indicating that the game might have dual protagonists at some point (Rean is still primary).
- Fie VS Shirley on top of the Derfflinger fully animated unlike the duel between Laura and Fie.
- Rean at some point fights Azure Siegfried in anime form.
- All four Ironbloods have activated their ARCUS II links indicating that they may either be a boss fight or something else. Either way, fans got hyped! Especially since this is the first time Lechter has brought out his weapon in 3D.
- Zephyr's leader, Rutger Claussel is Back from the Dead and leading Zephyr again, indicating that there's an Aidios gift somewhere that allows them to bring people Back from the Dead. And fans of the lore of the series are excited to see what this lore is.
- The teaser for the fourth arc is finally open and clicking the website shows Rean all chained up in his ogre form, both physically and magically. Then there's also the other screen shots that reveal who is in.
- The Stahlritter with Duvalie wearing casual clothes rather than her armor.
- Crow wielding his dual saber and new clothes.
- Renne all grown up.
- And finally, Lloyd and Elie looking at the sea.
- Falcom has been gradually revealing information about the fourth game in the months leading up to release.
- Everyone from the original SSS will appear in the game! And did we mention that Randy has finally a proper picture that looks like his S-Craft, while holding Berserga?
- Along with the full profile of Crow, we also got the main official picture for the fourth game and the hype couldn't be higher.◊ Especially with Rean looking free from the previous chains, for once! And with some really nice clothes which the fandom has embraced very well.
- There is a screenshot of Rean kneeling in front of a man who is strongly hinted to be none other than Cassius Bright himself!
- Renne and Cassius won't be the only Brights coming to Erebonia. That's right, Estelle and Joshua Bright are back! Playable, and with their S-Crafts in full 3D, just like Agate. To say the fandom freaked out would be an understatement.
- Then a teaser came out and every second ended up being one fandom rejoicing moment after another. We have the following:
- Crow is back in the party with his own S-Craft portrait.
- Mariabelle is a boss fight for both Lloyd and Elie.
- Randy is in the party on foot alongside new Class VII.
- The Ouroboros ship Glorious shows up.
- Rean and Crow look like they're about to face off against Arianrhod in their Divine Knights.
- It only happens for a split second but Duvalie is a party member.
- Roselia is back in her full adult form as shown in the flashbacks of Cold Steel III.
- But the biggest bomb that dropped is that Kloe is back alongside Cassius!
- And finally, Estelle is in a party with Renne, Tita, Tio, and Altina with Altina's new S-Craft that has her wielding a BFS.
- It's finally confirmed that Cassius is in the game, but what's even more surprising is that he's using the sword again!
- The long awaited trailer for the 4th game is finally out and a lot of things have dropped:
- Osborne is finally revealed in his battle attire.
- Wayne and Jessica are confirmed to be playable in the game.
- Jusis is wielding a different sword compared to his old one.
- Craig and Neithardt are revealed as a boss fight.
- Alberich is revealed as a boss fight and he has a Nightmare Fuel move that involves the eyes of some beast.
- Michael pulled off a Face–Heel Turn and joins Cedric and Shirley alongside Thors 1 students.
- But one of the best moments for fans is that long time character Gilbert is back!
- Finally, the winning shot where Rean, Lloyd, Kurt, Crow, Randy, Machias, and Ash face off against people surrounding them that includes Xeno, Leo, and Lechter.
- The fact that we are going to have the 3 main protagonists (except for Kevin) together in the same game, working together and interacting with each other is already something the fandom is hyping to a new galaxy and back. Not to mention all the other good interactions we are probably going to have (Crow with Lloyd and Randy, Renne and Joshua with Sharon or Arianrhod, Ke A and Altina, Schera and Sara...). Kondo was not kidding when he said this was a point of the story that he wanted to work for a long time.
- One for English-speaking fans: after fears of recasts as both VAs have become much higher profile since Sky FC, this trailer confirms that Stephanie Sheh and Johnny Yong Bosch are back as Estelle and Joshua!! Renne keeps her original VA, Sandy Fox, too, while still undergoing Vocal Evolution to match her age.
- A meta one: fans have been wishing for a Valimar figure for a long time. Mecha Smile has finally delivered the first official Valimar model!
The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie
- The teaser for Reverie is finally up and there are a ton of hype moments!
- Rixia is dancing with Ilya at Arc-En-Ciel in 3D!
- Arios and his daughter Shizuku in front of his wife's grave.
- Revealing four new characters instead of the fans thinking there were only going to be two.
- The synopsis claims that there will be three protagonists this time instead of just Rean with Rean as the "Hero", Lloyd as the "Liberator", and a third, masked character, as the "Hermit". And this time, players can actually switch between the three!
- And finally, who exactly is in the art cover of the title? It's none other than the Grandmaster!!!
- Those who weren't fond of the system in Cold Steel were happy to hear confirmation that there would be no bonding events in this game.
- Falcom has released the first thirty second ad for the game and boy does it not disappoint!
- It shows off Arios, Wazy, Noel, and Rixia in-game with an updated S-Craft portrait for Rixia.
- Celine finally has a S-Craft. Except she doesn't; the actual game reveals it's just a regular Craft that looks like one.
- For those who thought the animations were stiff in the previous Cold Steel games, Reverie made sure to make the animations look good with Juna piloting the Zolge with the SSS riding on it, taking off to the skies towards the upper levels of Orchis Tower. Followed by the shot of the SSS with Juna commencing to raid Orchis Tower.
- Rean using an Ace Custom with an ashen colored soldat and wielding his tachi at Avon Hill with a brand new interface.
- And the last shot of the trailer where Rean talks with a long haired man in bandages, who many think could be an alternate timeline Rean on top of water.
- A few more screenshots were released and boy do they not disappoint:
- Dudley has an episode with Machias!
- Erica Russell returns and is still very angry at Agate.
- Mireille is still stubborn with her relationship with Randy.
- Crow, Towa, Angelica, and George are going to Calvard.
- And then there's the trailer:
- Rean and Kurt duel Matteus Vander and the animations look a lot smoother.
- Rean, with his new Ace Custom, manages to cleave a missile in two and saves the Nord Settlement.
- Garcia and Cao reappear in the game and Cao is implied to be a boss fight.
- Noel saving Lloyd inside a burning building in an orbal bike.
- And then to start off the trailer, making sure their story is going to be very important, the trailer starts off with "C", Swin, and Nadia opening up the case that contains Lapis.
- The official trailer has been released. And boy does it not disappoint.
- Many people jumped for joy at seeing the Animation Bump the game has compared to the Cold Steel games. The previous Web CMs only showed bits and pieces but this trailer shows amazing in-game animations.
- The trailer starts off with KeA screaming Lloyd's name and Lloyd is lying on the ground.
- Rean crying in his left eye that has turned yellow with Juna and Altina wondering what's going on with their instructor.
- The Crossbell Liberation is finally shown onscreen, and it was definitely not sunshine and rainbows with even Wazy and Rixia kneeling on the floor.
- Crow fights off against the new ILF led by the new C.
- Continuing the tradition of Rean being a boss fight once per game, C and his allies have to fight off against Class VII. And it also confirms that Elise is playable again.
- The Cross Link sections are finally shown, and two identical events can look differently. The example the trailer shows Millium catching Lapis where in Rean's route, Rean's clutching his head while in C's route, Rean's not shown in the frame.
- McBurn as a boss fight isn't too special; what is special is that players can fight him as Lloyd, Wazy, Tio, Tita, Agate, Alisa, and Sharon.
- Celine can finally be placed as field leader and attacks the field with her fireball.
- Towa is finally playable again and George has a proper S-Craft cut-in, confirming that he'll have an S-Craft.
- Millium's new combat shell is Naglfar (the combat shell George uses) instead of Airgetlam and players revisit the Black Workshop.
- Kurt becoming a Wholesome Crossdresser in a Saint Astraia uniform.
- One of the biggest shocking moments in the trailer is McBurn's without his right arm.
- While the first Web CM showed it briefly, it doesn't show the part where Juna pilots the Zolge, spins her gunbreaker and fires it directly at Orchis Tower before crashing it to the building with the SSS riding.
- Nadia and Swin fighting off against the Emperor as depicted in "3 & 9." Meanwhile, Lapis stretches her hand with C bringing her up and they're in a white void.
- C's duel with Rufus in front of the Orchis Tower building.
- Rean's left eye glowing yellow, then stretching his right hand up.
- Juno Naval Fortress gets a Pillar of Light and the Merkabah's 2, 5, 8, 9, and 11 firing at something.
- Another Divine Knight showing up, with many claiming it's the completed version of the Great One with Ishmelga at the helm.
- And finally, the biggest shocking moment of the trailer: Cold Steel IV Normal Ending Rean showing up in the True Ending timeline complete with a scarf, his Cold Steel IV outfit a bit darker especially around the belt, longer hair, his skin having Tron Lines, and tells the person he's talking to that "he's happy to see that person" and that "the next time they see each other, that person better kill him with all that he has". Suffice to say, this version of Rean looks like a Blood Knight Death Seeker.
- At the same time as the Zero, Azure, and Nayuta games were announced and what the title will be in English, the official title, The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie comes out sometime in 2023!
- During December of 2022, NISAmerica started giving official announcements of various voice actors as the characters they'll be playing. Among them was confirmation that Max Mittelman would be returning as McBurn and Lechter, to the joy of many who were disappointed that he didn't reprise the roles back in Cold Steel IV.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak
- When the first teaser trailer came out, many fans rejoiced at seeing Zin and Walter again after not being seen since The 3rd (Zin's cameo in Cold Steel IV notwithstanding) with their new clothes. But the unexpected one ended up being Fie with new clothes that actually look normal for once.
- Shizuna, the swordswoman known as "Hime" who busted Rean's tachi during his Reverie short-story, is a playable character. Absolutely no one saw that coming.
- The trailer has been released by Dengeki and boy it did not disappoint.
- Bergard's Japanese voice actor for a long time has been listed as "?????" but the trailer reveals that he's voiced by none other than Akio Ōtsuka! Comparisons to Big Boss ensued.
- Just like Fie was the Unexpected Character coming from the Cold Steel arc, practically no one expected that Rixia was coming back! And she's got her Yin mask back on!
- While people did expect it, people still ended up being excited for a fight between Van and Aaron.
- Van's Grendel form in general got a lot of players excited especially after seeing it in action.
- A week before the release of the game in Japan, the Mildom stream revealed that Walter is playable by showing his new S-Craft. Sadly, this turned out to be a case of Never Trust a Trailer, as Walter is never playable at any point in this particular game.
- Once info for Kuro no Kiseki II: Crimson Sin finally dropped, fans were overjoyed with what was shown:
- Elaine being promoted to main character status was a development that got everyone hyped up, especially those who were disappointed that she couldn't be one in the previous game.
- Both Elaine and Agnes received new outfits, and most everyone agrees that they look really good.
- The return of Swin was universally applauded, especially due to the thought of the other members of the "New Imperial Picnic Squad" returning. And indeed, the later confirmation of Nadia's appearance was highly praised.
- Fishing's back after not having it in Daybreak I with a brand new mechanic. It also showed that Leon can fish which many fans interpret that the two Dominions will be a permanent addition to the party.
- The Short Trailer for Kuro II revealed 2 things that got everyone who saw it excited: Renne being confirmed playable (with a short gameplay video giving a better look at her awesome new S-Craft) and, more shockingly, the return of Towa.
- The official trailer is finally released and there is a lot to unpack.
- Van and Elaine die while taking on Grendel-Zolga, with Agnes screaming and the Octo-Genesis reacting to it, hinting that there's a heavy emphasis on time travel with the Time Sept-Terrion fully playing out.
- Arkride Solutions Office gets bombed to hell. And even Van's vehicle gets totaled by Kasim.
- Rene and Ellroy's S-Crafts are revealed and boy do they not disappoint with the former inside a helicopter armed with a rocket launcher and the latter summoning a gate of darkness.
