There are three types of Masculine Females and three types of Feminine Males, depending on their degree of masculinity and femininity:
- Types of masculine females:
- Butch Tomboy tends to be very masculine, to the point of actually being "manly", and has very few, if any, feminine qualities and interests. She may also hate anything that is girly and feminine, such as the color pink.
- Effeminate Tomboy tends to be gender-neutral, fairly masculine, but not overly masculine, nor overly feminine either, although she does not necessarily hate traditionally "girly" things. Most of her qualities and interests are masculine, while some of her qualities and interests are feminine as well.
- Moderate Girly Girl tends to be gender-neutral, fairly feminine, but still retains a significant portion of feminine qualities and interests. If she's good at sports, she plays sports that are typically considered "feminine", such as cheerleading, gymnastics, or volleyball.
- Types of feminine males:
- Girly Boy tends very feminine, to the point of actually being "girly", and has lots of feminine interests. He wears makeup and clothes that only girls would typically wear, and is usually not good at sports at all (other than perhaps dance sports).
- Tomgirl tends to be gender-neutral, fairly feminine, but not overly "feminine" nor overly masculine either. Most of his qualities and interests are feminine, while some of his qualities and interests are masculine as well, and is still easily identifiable as a boy, and some of the clothes he wears are feminine while some of the clothes he wears are what other boys typically wear as well, and if he's good at sports, he plays sports that are not typically considered "manly", such as golf, tennis, and volleyball.
- Moderate Manly Man tends to be gender-neutral, fairly masculine, but not overly manly. Most of his qualities and interests are traditionally masculine, while some of his qualities and interests are feminine as well.
Surprisingly enough the Effeminate Tomboy, Tomgirl, Moderate Manly Man, and Moderate Girly Girl are gender-neutral in different ways.
