Having female-led shows and/or movies could help shine a light on issues women face with around the world, usually regarding the many varieties of sexism. While it is possible for male-led shows with female characters to discuss these sorts of issues in a respectful manner, it might be more impactful having female-led shows discuss it because the audience can witness it firsthand instead of hearing about it.
The "Girl Show Ghetto" trope is about the belief that any female led projects are doomed to fail simply because it is female led. In real life, studios have often delayed and/or canceled potentially great projects simply because there was a female main character and/or female led casts. However, the
Feminist Fantasy trope destroys this myth by showing how female led SPFF stories can be just as resonating and amazing as male led SPFF stories.
