What animals get and don't get to be the victims of the Evil Egg Eater (and what it means)
As listed on the main page, most examples egg-laying animals that are common targets of egg thieves are:
- Birds
- Crocodilians
- Dinosaurs
- Turtles
- Dragons
- Griffons
Meanwhile, the ones that don't appear often are:
- Most invertebrates
- Frogs and other amphibians
The obvious reason why is that the latter species lay eggs with no shell of any kind, which most audiences aren't familiar with or have a strong reaction to that isn't Squicky or negative in general. The other is that these kinds of animals usually (with a few exceptions) don't look after their eggs or young, meaning there is no incentive to guard them.
