• This trope is about the moments that seem odd and out of character in light of how a personality is later revealed to be. Unlike many forms of characters being changed, this is usually only reconciled with the actual knowledge that writers are only human and the individual in question received a sort of personality Retool. Or maybe it is just a minor version of using Broad Strokes that leads to the more well-known version. It can even be justified if the changes are only really apparent after a Time Skip but thanks to the Rule of Perception this will still be jarring unless directly addressed.
