Common Types of Blatant Lie

  • Stating that you're allergic to something that is impossible to be allergic to in order to get out of something that involves it.
  • Stating that you didn't do something when the evidence is right there (for instance, claiming you didn't eat any ice cream when it's on your face).
  • Claiming that someone did something that would be seriously out of character (e.g. "It was Dad who was playing ball indoors") or impossible (e.g "It was the cat who left the fridge open").
  • Blaming something on someone who doesn't exist, such as a fictional character, a made-up creature, or an Imaginary Friend.
  • Claiming that you or someone else ate a non-food item (a classic one is A Dog Ate My Homework).
  • Playing Sick when you're obviously not (e.g. "I may still be active, but I definitely have the flu! *obviously fake cough*").
  • Blaming the wind when there is no wind, or the thing you're blaming on the wind is the only thing that was affected when other things would've blown away too.
  • Blaming something on an animal that there's none of around (e.g. "Monkeys did it!")
