Analysis / Angel Notes

Go To

The amount of hidden symbolism in Notes is staggering, as usual in Kinoko Nasu's works. For instance, V/V, a.k.a. the Angel, a.k.a. Type-Venus, is an angelic being who was cast down from the skies by "Gun God" and fell in love with humanity, contrary to its original mission. In the Medieval Christian theology, Venus, a.k.a. the Morning Star, was associated with Lucifer the Light-bringer, an angel cast down from the heavens by God for defying his original purpose (according to some interpretations—out of love for humanity). There is no way Nasu didn't do that on purpose.
