Utterly Deserved is a UK campaign for Utterly Butterly. It aired in the UK in 2003. Showcasing a woman trying to multitask at work... With mixed results.

This commercial has the following tropes

  • Apathetic Citizens: Or Workers in this case. When the woman falls off her chair, none of her associates seemed worried she'd hurt herself. One guy nearby a office even turns and likely sees her on the floor. Yet, he just continues his work like she's not there.
  • Didn't Think This Through: The woman, whose on the phone with a customer, tries to snatch a utterly butterly biscuit from the desk next to her. When she eats it, rather than focus on talking with the customer over the phone, she tries to reach for another biscuit. Ignoring that the person next to her would see one of his biscuits is gone, it's out of her arm's reach. Yet, tries to grab it anyway. It's only when she begins to fall out of her chair, that she realizes this was a bad idea.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: When reaching for the second butter cracker, The woman Starts to say something about a thing being in the company's engineer's board. But she speaks in a frantic tone upon realizing she's about to fall to the floor.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: The woman tries to steal one of her associates utterly butterly biscuits for herself. Completely ignoring the customer she's supposed to be helping. Even when she eats the first one, she greedily tries to reach for another one. This ends with her reaching the floor instead. The tagline at the end is even called utterly deserved.
