The series tends to
alter several of these not just for
The Owl House cast, but all other continuities.
- Luz's relationships with everyone she knows falls under this as she met all of them earlier than in canon and her altered upbringing leads to different interactions.
- Unlike canon where they had a student-mentor relationship up until the witch's duel that resulted in a loss of respect due to cheating, Amity and Lilith maintain said relationship because the duel didn't happen here. It becomes more heartwarming when it's later revealed that Lilith is Amity's godmother and she starts spending more time with her.
- Dipper and Mabel each develop under this as well: while Dipper grew up knowing everyone in Gravity Falls along with having a strong bond with Luz (his legal stepsister), Mabel (who only just learned about her twin brother and came to visit him for the summer) has to go through all the experiences she did in canon while also trying to bond with Dipper and Luz.
- Hunter has also fallen under this in regards to his relationship with Luz: the two met four years ago when Hunter came to Eda's stand, insulted the both of them and was chased off by Luz attempting to attack him with a golf club. They ended up getting on Tibbles' bad side, were chased by his bodyguard and Luz had to save Hunter due to his lack of magic. Out of sympathy, Luz sells Hunter martial arts books and some free glyph cards to defend himself. Since then, they've been close friends, but she has yet to learn about his status as the Golden Guard.
- The Banshees, under Boscha's command, treated Luz, Willow, and Gus with as much disrespect as their leader until they developed a level of respect for them. Here, Skara, Amelia, and Cat befriend all of them earlier along with actually becoming friends with Amity, compared to her completely cutting ties with them after befriending Willow again.
- Anne and Marcy were Childhood Friends but Anne was inattentive to both Marcy's interests and needs & didn't realize it until near the end of Amphibia. Here, Anne is more compassionate to Marcy and they learn they have feelings for each other, thus becoming girlfriends.
- Due to becoming an Adaptational Nice Girl, Loona is much kinder to everyone she'd normally disrespect, including her adoptive father Blitzo and Moxxie.
