Aborted Arc in this series.

Total Drama Island

  • Leshawna falling for Heather's fake apology in "Not So Happy Campers - Part 2." By the next episode, she's back to hating her for unexplained reasons and Heather never bothers trying to get on her good side anymore.
  • Izzy being a member of Heather's alliance is not only short-lived, but also barely acknowledged when it happens at all.
  • The Guys' Alliance is only active for two episodes and offhandedly referenced to by Duncan while stating his reason for voting for Geoff in the latter's elimination episode. In spite of that, their alliance is never shown officially dissolving on-screen. Nonetheless, they never continue voting together with no explanation as to why, not even when girls outnumber them again.
  • Duncan's alliance with Heather only lasts for one episode and is mentioned by her upon his elimination. Duncan is never shown changing his strategy and ending the alliance, though.

Total Drama Action

  • Justin being the Big Bad of the season is abandoned after Courtney debuts to the game. Word of God claims it was a conscious choice, as the crew realized Justin wasn't effective enough to be the main antagonist.
  • Harold's one-sided friendship and attraction with Heather (which actually started as early as the post-Island special). It happens on-and-off, only getting an occassional mention in later half of the season and an alliance between them is never formed despite being suggested.
  • Lindsay's Character Development into a more competent competitor was suddenly aborted at the very end of the season and never revisited afterwards.
  • The friendship forming between Heather and Leshawna after being at each other's throats for the entirety of the first season, only for this to abruptly disintegrate in World Tour and the two inexplicably returning to being bitter enemies.
  • Owen being brought back into the game by Chris to be The Mole is completely forgotten in World Tour, with Owen still maintaining his popularity and good reputation with his castmates.
  • DJ and his mother going bankrupt after their recipes resulted in casualties. In the special, it not only gives the cast a mean of transportation in the form of a bus DJ's family is currently living in, but it also gives DJ motivation to win the third season. However, the storyline is never touched upon afterwards and DJ ends up being an elimination seeker once again.

Total Drama World Tour

  • Gwen's friendships with both Bridgette and Leshawna in Island were forgotten by the end of Action, as she started interacting more with Courtney (whose friendship with Bridgette was also forgotten after Island) and Duncan while Bridgette (who fell completely Out of Focus) became more and more defined by her relationship with Geoff and Leshawna by her on-and-off romance with Harold. The same applies with numerous other friendships from the first season. Duncan's friendship with Geoff and DJ was ignored after the first season, as the latter two fell Out of Focus (with Geoff becoming increasingly defined by his relationship with Bridgette) and Duncan started to interact more with Gwen and Courtney in the immensely controversial Love Triangle. Similarly, Owen's friendships with Cody and Trent were abandoned for an Odd Friendship with Noah as Trent fell Out of Focus after his breakup with Gwen and Cody became increasingly defined by his status as part of a love triangle with Gwen and Sierra in World Tour.
  • Tyler was among the first contestants who had a negative opinion of Alejandro, being jealous over his flirting with Lindsay in the first episode. However, starting with the very next episode, his distrust of Alejandro vanished completely. In fact, Tyler being one of Alejandro's enemies was aborted completely in favor of making him his completely loyal ally, to the point of Tyler being one of a few contestants still on Alejandro's side by the end of the season (although potentially just because Lindsay was on his side).
  • Owen and Izzy's romantic subplot came to an abrupt halt about halfway into the season due to the same order of Executive Meddling that broke up Gwen/Trent and Duncan/Courtney. What makes this case stand out compared to the other two breakups was that Izzy was Not Herself when the breakup occurred, leaving it ambiguous as to whether she and Owen ever made up after she was restored to normal (whereas Trent and Gwen became Amicable Exes and Duncan and Courtney became fierce enemies due to Duncan cheating on her with Gwen).
  • Courtney and Gwen's newfound friendship and the increased focus on several of the early losers from Island were abandoned mid-season as Duncan returned to the game and started a Love Triangle with Gwen and Courtney, leading to Noah and Tyler getting booted out of the team (Cody however remained due to his status as the object of Sierra's affections).

Total Drama: Revenge of the Island

  • The season includes the short-lived love triangle between Zoey, Mike, and Anne Maria and the rivalry between Brick and Jo, both abruptly halted in the episode "A Mine is a Terrible Thing to Waste" when Brick is eliminated and Anne Maria quits the game.

Total Drama All-Stars

  • The first half of the season is one long pastiche of aborted arcs, such as Jo and Lightning's continued rivalry, the Gwen and Duncan romance, Duncan's personal crisis and his conflict with Mike/Mal, Cameron's efforts to save Mike from Mal, Courtney and Gwen's friendship yet again, the Scott and Courtney romance, Sierra competing without Cody, Jo and Heather's attempted alliances with Gwen, Alejandro flirting with Gwen, etc.

Total Drama: Pahkitew Island

  • The second half of the season has Jasmine's friendship with Samey (due to the latter being eliminated and then completely forgotten afterwards) and Samey trying to be her own person (dropped because she tricks Amy into being eliminated in her place leaving her to pretend to be her for two episodes before being actually eliminated).

Total Drama Island (2023) Part 2

  • Damien and Priya's subtle Ship Tease from the previous season is completely forgotten and replaced with her attraction to Caleb. In fact, Damien appears to be a Shipper on Deck for the two.
  • "Fun Fight at the O'Cake Corral" sets up the idea of Julia growing conflicted over having to compete against MK post-merger. Apart from Julia trying to avoid MK at the start of the following episode, this internal-conflict is immediately forgotten once the two shift focus on getting Zee to tell them his secret and is never brought up again.
