5	* BestKnownForTheFanservice: The game as a whole is mostly known for having uncensored sex scenes and copious amounts of nudity.

7	** It's sometimes claimed that ''VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiIV'''s Demon Whisper mechanic originated in this game. This isn't actually the case -- instead, human party members learn magic the same way demons do. Incidentally, ''IV'' does borrow a lot of things from ''Giten'' -- just not that.
8	** There were also people claiming that it is an ero-guro game because of an infamous scene of Yuuka being brutally slaughtered and an instance of sex scene. In reality, these are not regular occurences in the game, and said scenes are no worse than what one could see in an R-rated movie.
9	* EnjoyTheStorySkipTheGame: ''Giten'''s story is generally considered to be one of its better parts, with an interesting approach on the series' usual AfterTheEnd setting. Gameplay, on the other hand, is considered a bit of a slog, and often [[NintendoHard unreasonably difficult]] on top of that.
10	* GoodBadBugs: If you enter the Virtual Battler with no equipment, then defeat the boss, you'll keep the equipment you were given.
11	* OlderThanTheyThink: A number of demons associated with the franchise's more recent entries, such as Abdiel (mainly known in ''VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiV''), the Moirae sisters (known from ''VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiIIINocturne'' onwards), and Asherah (mainly known from ''VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiStrangeJourney'') made their debut in this game.
12	* SignatureScene: Yuuka's incredibly gruesome death.
