4	The game takes place a year after the defeat Fear Incarnate by the efforts of the ChosenOne Asha, and Monster World has now become relatively peaceful. Meanwhile, in another world, a half-genie girl named Shantae is told by a mysterious voice to follow it through a portal, and soon finds herself in Monster World. The two then team up in order to help Asha retrieve the ingredients necessary for an elixir to cure Asha's mother, who has fallen ill with the rare disease Pandora's Flu. Along the way, they meet many other people who have also find themselves trapped in Monster World.
