* Defictionalization: A supposed Banjo & Sullivan GreatestHitsAlbum was released as an official tie-in with the movie. In reality it's an AffectionateParody of 70's country by Jesse Dayton.
* DeletedRole:
** Music/RobZombie filmed a scene for Dr. Satan from the first film but ultimately cut it out, saying that it would be like having "Chewbacca in Film/TheWildBunch."
** Creator/RosarioDawson originally had a small part as a nurse in the film. Her character was cut out of the theatrical release for Zombie's decision of not having any Dr. Satan in the film. Her character was killed off within forty seconds of her debut to the film.
* DyeingForYourArt: Creator/BillMoseley shaved his head for the film so his lace wig would fit properly.
* InMemoriam: Matthew [=McGrory=], who played Tiny, died two weeks after the movie's theatrical release. A dedication to him was added to the closing credits when it was released on DVD.
* MethodActing: Bill Moseley loved playing Otis. In fact, he went on acting like Otis towards his family; he went days without showering.
* TheOtherDarrin: Rufus and Mother Firefly are portrayed by different actors. In the case of Mother Firefly, Creator/KarenBlack wanted more money to reprise her role; she eventually relented but Leslie Easterbrook had already been cast in her place.
* PlayingAgainstType:
** Creator/ElizabethDaily, better known for her more kid friendly roles, plays the foul-mouthed prostitute Candy. Understatement Definitely Understatement not Understatement a role kids should be watching. She even acknowledges this in the DVD documentary.
** Creator/MichaelBerryman, best known for playing terrifying, insane, murder hungry monsters as far back as Film/TheHillsHaveEyes1977, plays Charlie’s bumbling, simpleminded handyman at his whorehouse.
* RealLifeRelative: Sheri Moon Zombie's brother has a cameo as a police officer in the opening shootout scene. He was originally only on the set as a visitor, but Music/RobZombie put him in the scene because he knew how to handle firearms well.
* UncreditedRole: Creator/SteveRailsback as Sheriff Ken Dwyer.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Creator/JamesAvery was considered for Charlie Altamont.
** Creator/NatashaLyonne was originally slated to play Candy, but was replaced by Creator/ElizabethDaily.
