As the story goes on, Akutsu and Ooyama are essentially tenderly in love with each other to a comedic level (and pretty much cohabitating...i.e. what romantic couples do), so much that they're considered an item at school. Keep in mind, we're talking about two young individuals who have yet to confess to each other.
