5''Aladdin'' is a {{Creator/Disney}} media franchise that began in [[TheNineties 1992]] with the {{Franchise/Disney animated|Canon}} [[{{WesternAnimation/Aladdin}} film of the same name]]. Loosely based on the ''Literature/ArabianNights'' tale of "[[{{Literature/Aladdin}} Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp]]" and set in the fictional Arabian city-state of Agrabah, it revolves around a StreetUrchin named Aladdin who falls in love with the RebelliousPrincess Jasmine, and gets a magical lamp with a wise-cracking Genie inside to help make his dreams come true.
