''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11456267/1/A-Devil-s-Diamond A Devil's Diamond]]'' is a ''Literature/HighSchoolDXD'' and ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'' crossover by Creator/MugiwaraN0Luffy. Here Josuke Higashikata, the protagonist of ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable Diamond is Unbreakable]]'', takes center stage as Issei Hyoudou's best friend and attends Kuoh Academy living a simple ordinary life... despite his best friend being a massive pervert. Things get ''truly'' bizarre when he gets dragged into an ancient war between Angels and Devils, and then Stand Users get involved since Josuke has a violent destiny in store to him thanks to his father's bloodline. So much for an ordinary life.

The author also has the fic on Spacebattles, which can be found [[https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/a-devils-diamond-highschool-dxd-jjba-diu-xover.389142/ here]].

----
!!This fic has examples of:
* AboveTheInfluence: Platonic example. Josuke allowing his emotions to take a front seat in his decision making almost lead to him choosing to become a part of Rias' Peerage. While she had been wanting Josuke to join, she sees him as a friend and a friend would most definitely ''not'' allow for another friend to choose something that could majorly screw up their life because they were emotionally compromised.
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance:
** Several Characters from [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureGoldenWind Golden Wind]] appear early on during the Excalibur Arc, with Bruno Bucciarati being Irina and Xenovia's group leader, and Passione members Ghiaccio and Carne being sent to aid Passione Allies amidst the Grigori.
** [[spoiler: Giorno Giovanna is mentioned to have basically been adopted by the leader of the Fallen Angels.]]
** A young Jolyne from [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStoneOcean Stone Ocean]] shows up in chapter 18, in [[MythologyGag reference]] to the ''Webcomic/LittleJolyneGoesToMorioh'' comic.
* AdaptationalHeroism:
** Raynare, albeit {{Downplayed|Trope}}. She still does the same things she did in Canon, and even joins Kokabiel after Josuke spared her the first time around. However, after Issei gets Josuke to spare her a second time, and Josuke saves her from a mortal wound caused by Kokabiel, she has a legitimate change of heart and undergoes a HeelFaceTurn.
** Bruno, though {{downplayed|Trope}}. In canon, Bruno served as TheDragon to Polpo, having joined Passione to receive protection from the gang members who attempted to kill his father, and, with the aid of his own group and Giorno, intended to usurp Polpo and become a Capo, then identify the leader of Passione, usurp him, and use Passione to make Italy a better place. Here, he is a member of the Catholic Church, which was only vaguely alluded too by his soul ascending to Heaven at the series' end, but as a full-fledged exorcist and TheMentor to Irina and Xenovia.
* AdaptationalBadass:
** The Beetle Headed arrow can even grant Stands to things that normally cannot gain them, like Devils, Angels(as Metatron found out, gaining a Stand while working with the arrow) and Fallen Angels.
* AdaptationalVillainy:
** Akira Otoishi, but {{Downplayed|Trope}}. In canon, he was a BigBadWannabe responsible for Keicho's death and tried to kill Joseph, but the most he ever did was steal and experiment on some rats with the Stand Arrow. Here, he's [[spoiler:Myrcella Lucifuge's]] Queen and an active enemy to both the Joestars and the Occult Research Club.
** Ghiacchio, although {{justified|Trope}}. In canon, Ghiacchio, along with the rest of the hitman squad, had defected from Passione two years prior after their comrades Sorbet and Gelato were killed and became {{Anti Villain}}s. As the fic is set during the events of ''Diamond is Unbreakable'', which takes place three years before ''Golden Wind'', Ghiacchio is still a member of Passione's hitman squad.
* AdaptationDeviation: In the manga, [[spoiler:Giorno saved the life of a gangster being chased by his enemies. The gangster would then [[IOweYouMyLife repay his debt]] to Giorno by scaring his bullies and his father. Here, the person he saves is Azazel's daughter rather than a mafia member, which led to him joining the Grigori and more or less becoming Azazel's adopted son alongside Vali]]. Azazel also mentions that [[spoiler:Giorno infiltrated Passione a year ago to sabatoge the Stand users aiding Kokabiel and his fellow warmongers. In Part 5, Giorno didn't join Passione, much less know about it, until he met Bruno, who is allied with the exorcists in ''Devil's Diamond'']].
* AdaptedOut: Mugiwara has made it explicit that Koichi Hirose will not appear in ''A Devil's Diamond'', both out of a personal disinterest of him, and as [[CompositeCharacter Issei]] already fulfills a similar role here. Similarly, Tamami Kobayashi has made no appearance in the story whatsoever.
* AntiMagic: Stands are basically [[NoSell immune]] to ''direct'' attack magic such as Riser's fire or Akeno's lightning, which is one of the reasons that stand users are terrifying to the Devil/Angel Community.
* BaitAndSwitch: Wanting to be able to participate in the rating game in order to help his friends, Josuke offers himself to Rias to become part of her Peerage. [[spoiler: Next chapter has her promptly turn him down because he's making a rash decision out of heated emotions rather than completely of his own will]].
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler: Kakyoin, Avdol, Iggy,]] and [[spoiler: Caesar Zeppelli are all revealed to have been reincarnated as angels.]]
* BashBrothers:
** Josuke and Issei, being the main protagonists of the story, invoke this trope a few times.
*** Josuke helps save Issei from Elmenhilde while fighting Keicho. Issei then promptly returns the favor.
*** Josuke and Issei's combined attack against [[spoiler:Riser Phenex in the Rating Game.]]
** Once Okuyasu shows up, he tends to share this dynamic with both Josuke and Kiba, often lending a hand during fights.
* BattleCry: Given that this is a Crossover with Jojo in it, this is to be expected. Issei gets it on it too with his own in the battle with Riser. “OPPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPA”
* BerserkButton: As always, making fun of Josuke's hair is a great way to get beaten up.
* BelligerentSexualTension: Between Okuyasu and [[spoiler:Xenovia. After she insulted Asia, she ended up on Okuyasu's shit list, leading to the two of them fighting and ending in a draw. After initially engaging in TeethClenchedTeamwork for the sake of helping Kiba and finding the Excaliburs, the two slowly bonded while facing Notorious B.I.G.]]
* BigBrotherInstinct: Josuke towards Asia, so much so that realizing Issei is alone with her for the night sets it off and prompts him to call and threaten Issei into not doing anything, just after Asia asked if she could sleep in the same bed with him.
* CelibateHero: Josuke. Unlike Issei and Okuyasu, he turns down every single opportunity.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Downplayed. After Xenovia realizes her affections for [[spoiler: Okuyasu, she reacts hostile and tense towards any girl he mentions, or girls he shows attraction to.]] However, she keeps it mostly to herself.
* DeathByAdaptation: Thanks in part to their early appearances, [[spoiler:Ghiaccio and Carne both die before they would in Golden Wind. Ghiaccio is killed by Irina while she was defending Bruno, and Carne allowed himself to die against Xenovia so Notorious B.I.G. could attack her, only for Okuyasu to erase it with The Hand.]]
* DecompositeCharacter: Due to Koichi being AdaptedOut, the roles he would have had in the group dynamics are split amidst other characters.
** Issei takes the role of Josuke's close friend, the two being ChildhoodFriends rather than newly introduced when the story begins like Koichi was.
** Asia takes the role of Rohan's disciple, Rohan being Asia's contract.
** Gasper takes the role of being both the softer counterpart to Jotaro and [[spoiler:Yukako's target of affections.]]
* TheDreaded: Even among the three factions, the ability to [[TimeStandsStill stop time]] is very rare. This was why Dio was considered a huge threat.
** This also extends to Jotaro, since he has it as well and ''beat'' Dio, making enemies wary of angering him and drawing his attention. It's eventually revealed that a Stand's AntiMagic combined with the Time Stop can affect even beings immune to Gasper's power, furthering their dread.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Jotaro Kujo, badass NinetiesAntiHero who has a penchant for calling his mom a bitch as well as being kind of a negligent father, is not amused by Issei's [[TheNudifier Dress Break]]. While he can see Issei is an okay guy, he threatens to kill Issei should he do something perverted around Jolyne.
* {{Fangirl}}: [[TheStoic Sona]] is a major fan of the Joestar family, [[NotSoStoic nearly]] [[{{Squee}} fainting]] after meeting Jotaro in person. Her sister [[MagicalGirl Serafall]] is even more of one, and far less subtle about it.
* FemaleGaze: During the pool chapter, the girls momentarily get distracted by Josuke and Okuyasu, who are both extremely well in-shape for their age.
--> '''Koneko''': "[[LampshadeHanging A-Are we the perverts in this situation?]]"
* {{Foreshadowing}}: [[spoiler:The latest chapter has Asia and Rohan encountering a ghost named Reimi, who had been murdered by an unknown assailant. She also mentions how the towns' death rate is eight times higher than normal, and she has a scar on her back - the same mark as many other victims who met her fate. If you're familiar with Jojo, then you ''know'' who she is talking about.]]
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler: Kakyoin married Gabriel some time between his reincarnation, and the present day.]]
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Quite literally for the Joestars. The forces of Heaven and Hell were aware of the events of Phantom Blood and Heaven was even tempted to intervene to stop Dio, but when Johnathan fought him, the Joestar Lineage became quite famous amongst the supernatural, with both the events of Battle Tendency and Stardust Crusaders being observed and sold as a book series, and garnering the Joestars numerous fans, among them [[NotSoStoic Sona]], and to a lesser extent, Rias. Upon discovering Josuke is a Joestar, they both desire to have him join their peerage.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Issei and Josuke are best friends and always have each other's backs.
* HolyBurnsEvil: Josuke uses Crazy Diamond to merge Asia's cross into Riser's chest near his heart, thus negating his healing/offensive powers and acting as a form of poison since even after Riser's physical injuries were healed he was still in a coma till Josuke took the cross out.
* ImTakingHerHomeWithMe: Koneko has this reaction to Jolyne at one point.
* InSpiteOfANail: Despite all the added characters to the fray, the Holy Swords Arc still ends with Xenovia exiled from the church with Irina none the wiser.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Elmenhilde may be haughty and arrogant, but she obviously cares for Okuyasu and is both shocked as well as disgusted by Keicho's apparent disregard for his younger brother. Red Hot Chili Pepper even notes that she doesn't want Okuyasu to get involved in the inevitable fight between the groups.
* LampshadeHanging: Embodied by Rohan Kishibe. Every person he reads he thoroughly analyzes and ultimately fits them into the role they'd have in canon.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: When Rohan uses ''Heaven's Door'' to look inside Issei and read his personality, he admits the Issei would be an interesting Harem Protagonist, his utterly shameless perversion being a flaw that makes him more interesting than other FlatCharacter Leads.
* LosingAShoeInTheStruggle: Xenovia loses a boot during the fight with [[spoiler: Notorious B.I.G.]] due to [[spoiler: a piece of the stand]] latching onto said boot, forcing Okuyasu to remove and erase it using The Hand.
* ModernAUFic: On the ''[=JoJo=]'' side of the story. ''Diamond is Unbreakable'' takes place in 1999, but ''Highschool [=DxD=]'', the main basis for the fic, takes place in what's implied to be the 2010s,
* OhCrap: Jotaro has one when he realizes the lost boy staying with the Occult Research Club is [[spoiler: Mannish Boy]].
** [[BloodKnight Kokabiel]] has one when he realizes that he's injured and within striking distance of ''[[TheDreaded Jotaro]]'' ''[[TimeStandsStill Kujo]]''.
* OddFriendship: Issei and Josuke. Issei is a LovableSexManiac who has earned the ire of basically the entire female student body. Josuke is a NiceGuy with tons of female admirers. While Issei won't shut up about the female body, Josuke prefers to keep quiet about his thoughts that concern attractive women.
* PetTheDog: Rohan had planned on taking a memory from [[NiceGirl Asia]] in order to use as material for his next work, but decided against it when he saw just how pure she was. At least [[HopeSpot until Issei showed up]]...
* PragmaticVillainy: When Jolyne arrives to Kuoh Town, Myrcella’s faction passes up on the chance to take her as a hostage. Not because it’s beneath them, but because they don't want Jotaro on their trail any more then he already is.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: Being a Jojo cross this is pretty much to be expected but even Issei gets in on the action later on.
* RetiredMonster: Many of the assassins sent by DIO that survived the events of Stardust Crusaders retired and opted to live their lives, with the Speedwagon Foundation keeping tabs on them in case. [[SubvertedTrope Others, however]], such as [[spoiler:Mannish Boy]], are still up to their old ways, and Jotoro is contemplating hunting them down.
* SinsOfOurFathers: Averted. Upon learning about Giorno Giovanna’s existence, Jotaro and Joseph make it clear that they don't hold anything Dio did against him.
* SparedByTheAdaptation:
** Raynare faces Josuke this time around, and he spares her and sends her back to her bosses. They tear her a new one though, causing her to [[TooDumbToLive seek revenge on Issei and Josuke]]. Unfortunately for her, Josuke was contemplating whether he should have let her go, or made her suffer the same fate as Angelo. When she does return and is beaten by Issei and Josuke again, Issei insists on sparing her still. After Josuke heals her from a mortal wound at the hands of Kokabiel, Raynare actually shows gratitude at being spared and pulls a HeelFaceTurn, leaving and going to find her own path in life.
** Downplayed in that their fates were more [[AmbiguousSituation ambiguous]] than fatal, but both Steely Dan and Rubber Soul were confirmed by the Speedwagon Foundation to be still alive.
* StraightMan: Josuke often finds himself in this role to Issei and his perverted antics. Bruno's in much the same boat in regards to Irina and Xenovia.
* TalkToTheFist: Jotaro is not impressed by Katarea, and uses the time stop to punch her mid-'big villain speech', as Azazel called it.
* TheBusCameBack: [[spoiler:Mannish Boy, last seen as a baby being delivered to the hospital during the Stardust Crusaders trip to Egypt, returns as a hired gun for Myrcella Lucifuge, now 12 years old and [[TookALevelInBadass much stronger]].]]
* TimeStandsStill: Jotaro still has this ability, and actually [[AdaptationalBadass strengthens]] it, extending the length after stepping up his training, after finding out about Devils and Angels through Josuke. [[spoiler: It's later revealed that even supernatural beings that should be able to resist it, such as the Satans and Archangels who can counter Gasper's version, fall prey to Jotaro's Time Stop. ]]
* TitleDrop: [[{{Fangirl}} Sona]] asks Jotaro to sign her book for her, appropriately titled ''Jojo's Bizarre Adventures''.
* WhamLine: One InUniverse. During the peace meeting, a boy that Azazel has under his care of is brought up while explaining the actions of the fallen. Jotaro starts asking a few questions about him wanting to know if the boy is someone he is looking for. Then Jotaro reveals the connection that he has to the person in question and why he is looking into him. To say that the three faction leaders were surprised would be an understatement.
--> '''Jotaro''' "[[spoiler:That boy, Giorno Giovanna as you call him, is the son of '''Dio Brando'''.]]"
