!!Atsuko "Akko" Kagari
->'''Arcana''': The Fool
->'''Persona''': Aradia

[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tv_tropes_post_3.png]]

The current holder of the power of the Wild Card, and the first student of Luna Nova to arrive from Japan.

----
* AdaptationalBadass: Akko is the wielder of the power of the Wild Card. This is a given.
* AdaptationalIntelligence: Well, more like Adaptational Book Smarts, but Akko is more invested in her studies, as her personas encourage her to be more studious.
* AfraidOfNeedles: And boy does she have it, despite her denials. It's implied that it's tied to the scars on her arm that seem to come from a botched injection.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Both Lilim and Skogsra have [[ScrewYourself kissed her on the cheek at least]], and considering how Personas are representations of aspects of the subconscious mind, it's highly likely that she's attracted to women.
* CatchPhrase:
** "Yay!"
** "Doki Doki no Waku Waku!"
** She also noticeably says "Bring it!" a lot when battling/enraged.
* ContrastingSequelProtagonist: Akko is this to [[VideoGame/Persona5 Joker]] - beyond their contrasting color schemes (DarkIsNotEvil for Joker, LightIsGood for Akko), the two also have different relationships with their Wild Card powers: Joker only received his powers at the beginning of the story, while Akko said she got her powers several years before she goes to Luna Nova.
** Akko is also one to Akechi - [[spoiler: both possess/possessed the power of the Wildcard for some time prior to the events of the story, but while Akechi's powers were effectively useless due to his misanthropy and horrible childhood, Akko's powers are still able to function as intended due to her unfailing idealism]].
* CovertPervert: After Skogsra [[ScrewYourself kisses her on the cheek]], Amanda suspects that between her and Lilim representing aspects of her subconscious, she's got a dirtier mind than she lets on, and ''no one'' buys Akko's claim that she doesn't have any perverted thoughts.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Something awful occurred long prior to Akko's arrival to Luna Nova and she has been keeping quiet about it even to her friends at that school. so far, Akko reveals that it's a life-threatening event that was the birthplace of her Persona power and also forces her to move to Inaba.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: One omake scene reveals that Akko attempted to use Patra to calm down a bunch of angry baseball fans after their team lost a game, failing to consider that since they are still at the game, they'll remember why they were mad and get mad again. While she does manage to get things fixed, much more effort is required than she was expecting.
* EntertaininglyWrong: Akko assumes, as in canon, that Ursula is a fan of Shiny Chariot. Readers, in part due to LateArrivalSpoiler, are well aware that Ursula actually ''is'' Shiny Chariot, [[SureLetsGoWithThat who just decides to roll with Akko's assumption to avoid having to tell her the truth]]. Granted, Akko does know that there is more to Ursula than just that because her Arcana is ''TheHermit''.
* ExperiencedProtagonist: Akko has had her Wild Card powers for a few years prior to going to Luna Nova, and spent at least a year fighting Shadows so that she could get enough money to pay the tuition. She's already figured out which Shadows are most dangerous and several elemental resistances that her Personas possess.
* GamerChick: Is apparently a ''VideoGame/DragonQuest'' fan. WordOfGod is that this is part of the reason she keeps Slime around - the other is because of his resistances.
* GenkiGirl: Nothing really dampers the girl's disposition. {{Deconstructed|Trope}}, though, because her bright attitude makes her not a very good Wild Card user as her lack of sensitivity and tact was the reason [[spoiler:Shadow Diana came to life.]]
* GiverOfLameNames: A minor running gag is the other girls complaining about her attempts to name things.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: While clothed she looks perfectly fine but when unclothed, it's revealed that there are multiple scars all over her body, including shots belonging to botched injections.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: If you have an alternate world where reality can bend to your will and a girl with boundless imagination, you have a very deadly combo.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Ironically, despite dreaming of spreading smiles to the world, she has a surprising lack of tact which ultimately leads to the birth of Shadow Diana. After the matter was settled, Akko vowed to be more aware of other people's feelings.
* KillItWithFire: At the start of the story, Akko has an ''extreme'' weakness toward fire magic, as almost all of her Personas have weaknesses to fire.
* KungFuWizard: Studied Wing Chun for a while, [[DownplayedTrope but nowhere near a master at it]]. Get beaten by Lin-Lin, an actual martial artist, easily.
* LeeroyJenkins: Surprisingly [[DownplayedTrope downplayed]]. She is less prone to make rash actions and more on thinking smarter to help solve her problems.
* LightIsGood: Akko's Cognitive World outfit(which is based on Shiny Chariot's stage outfit) is vibrantly colored.
* MagneticHero: Quickly starts attracting friends after arriving to Luna Nova.
* PrimaryColorChampion: Akko's Cognitive World outfit is primarily white and blue, with a red cape and red and yellow accents.
* SanitySlippage: {{Subverted|Trope}}. Akko has been living and fighting in the Cognitive World for a year and so far, her personality still matches her canon counterpart's.
* SecretlyWealthy: Of a sort - due to her adventures in the Cognitive World, Akko has amassed a collection of items that would make her obscenely wealthy in the Magical World. Just for an example, she treats Bicorn Horns [[WorthlessYellowRocks as junk due to not having anyone to sell them to]], while most witches would be scrambling to get them because of their magical properties and the fact that bicorns are an EndangeredSpecies. There's also the fact that Shadows drop valid banknotes corresponding to whatever nation she is in, meaning that she always has a quick source of cash on hand.
* SheIsAllGrownUp: We briefly get a glance at what Akko will look like when she grows up when Akko uses Ennervation[[note]]in Japanese it is known as Aging[[/note]] on herself. It's made clear that she will be ''very'' beautiful, enough that [[TheStoic Sucy]] [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness gets very flustered about said beauty and get's extremely embarrassed when pulled into a hug that brings her close to Akko's]]...generous tracks of land.
* TarotMotifs: Akko, who is just starting her education at Luna Nova and beginning her journey to restore the world's faith in magic, is the wielder of the Fool Arcana, which can, among other things, symbolize the beginning of a journey. More humorously, she is so far the only person associated with the Fool Arcana who actually is an example of TheFool, being a carefree soul whose plan to revive interest in witchcraft is to tour the world just like Shiny Chariot did.
* WorthlessYellowRocks: Akko tends to treat many of the items she gets from the Cognitive World - most of which would be worth a small fortune in the magical world - as junk if she cannot find an immediate use for them. [[JustifiedTrope Then again, Akko barely knew anyone from the Magical World before she showed up at Luna Nova, and nobody in her hometown would buy her loot]].

!!Aradia, the Messiah of Witchcraft(False Goddess)
Akko's main persona.
----
* AdaptationExpansion: Unlike with the Persona games, Aradia is explicitly treated as her own character, and directly interacts with the entire cast on several occasions.
* BeenThereShapedHistory: It's revealed that Aradia has some significant role in developing magic and has met the Nine Olde Witches before who she heavily dislikes.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: With Arsenne. While both are the initial Persona's of their story's respective Wild Card, Arsenne acts as a GuardianEntity for Joker and encourages him to enjoy himself when taking down Shadows. Aradia, meanwhile, is TheMentor to Akko and advises the witch in training on how best to go about her studies.
* CoolTeacher: Aradia takes a hands-on approach, nurturing and guiding her students when they need her help.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Aradia's appearance reeks of malevolence, but she genuinely cares about Akko and acts as TheMentor to her from time to time.
* {{Foil}}: To Sucy - both are malevolent-looking characters associated with witchcraft that are close to Akko. Sucy, however, is Akko's first friend at Luna Nova and comes off as a SarcasticDevotee, while Aradia is Akko's main persona, TheConfidant for the new Wild Card, and also Akko's SpiritAdvisor. Aesthetically, Aradia is DarkIsNotEvil while Sucy is PurpleIsPowerful.
* {{Irony}}: Akko practically worships the ground that Shiny Chariot walks on. [[spoiler: According to Ursula, who is Shiny Chariot herself, her ancestors worshipped Aradia as their goddess over the Nine Olde Witches.]]
* LightEmUp: She can also utilize light-based attacks. Making her a case of YinYangBomb.
* MamaBear: Ursula reveals that Aradia is notorious for delivering brutal vengeance upon those that attempt on her charges' lives. As Akko's Persona, not even a descendant of her followers is exempted from her wrath.
* NightmareFace: It'd be accurate to say that Aradia's face looks more like a nightmarish painting of a face than an actual face. It's based on the Rorschach test. To make it even more nightmarish, WordOfGod said her head is actually a scepter ending in an empty crystal ball, with the face being akin to a mirage inside it.
* ParentalSubstitute: Akko views Aradia like her second mother similar to how her canon counterpart views Professor Ursula.
* SpiritAdvisor: Aradia chimes in whenever she feels the need to advise Akko on a matter.
* SpottingTheThread: Aradia's the only one who suspects Ursula's character.
* YinYangBomb: Aradia is capable of using both Light and Dark skills.

[[folder:Sucy Manbavaran]]
!!Sucy Manbavaran
->'''Arcana''': The Devil(social link with Akko), The Lovers (Persona)
->'''Persona''': Angitia

[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tv_trope_4.png]]

Poison obsessed witch from the Philippines. Akko's new best friend.

----
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: {{Downplayed|Trope}} - Sucy is a bit nicer toward Akko, but only because Akko's durability makes her an excellent test subject and the Cognitive World provides an unlimited supply of materials for her to use. [[spoiler:Her interactions with her Shadow, though, make it clear that Sucy does genuinely see Akko as a friend, which she didn't seem to acknowledge at this point in ''Little Witch Academia'''s canon]].
* AmbiguouslyGay: Sucy primarily sees Akko as a test subject, but her reaction to Lilim and Skogsra's antics, along with blushing when Akko carried her to safety suggests Sucy's interest may also be romantic in nature.
* BladeEnthusiast: Sports a dagger she used to fight Shadows.
* DefrostingIceQueen: It's happening at an absolutely [[{{Pun}} glacial pace]], but Sucy is gradually moving away from her aloof MadScientist character and starting to be a genuine friend to Akko. It's not much, but it is something.
* {{Foil}}: To Goro Akechi from ''VideoGame/Persona5''. Both are the function as the TokenEvilTeammate among their respective parties, while also having unique elements to their social links. As for differences:
** Akechi [[spoiler:betrays the party, albeit while being conflicted about his actions, and ultimately goes out in a HeroicSacrifice that doubles as RedemptionEqualsDeath]]. Sucy, by contrast, [[spoiler:is truly loyal to her teammates while still being the most wicked among them]].
** While the two share an arcana quirk, how it works is expressed differently. [[spoiler:Akechi is actually a bearer of the power of the Wild Card, but can only use the Fool Arcana, while representing Joker's Justice Arcana. Sucy, in contrast, wields the Lovers Arcana, but represents Akko's Devil Arcana]].
** In regards to how evil they appear, Akechi hides his wicked nature under a guise of affability, while Sucy just chooses to be obviously and unrepentantly bitchy, but is still a nice person in spite of this.
* GamerChick: A hardcore Pokemon player apparently.
* {{Greed}}: When she learns that there's an alternate world where there are free stuff, rare and powerful magical items to be exact, she immediately plans how to profit from it.
* MadScientist: ''IT'S SUCY'', that's a given. Part of the reason she warms up to Akko faster than in canon is that the former makes a good test subject. That this also gives her a potentially unlimited source of potion reagents that are either rare or ''literally nonexistent'' is just icing on the cake.
* MasterPoisoner: As in canon, this is a defining trait of Sucy. Part of her reason for being nicer to Akko is that the Cognitive World provides her an unlimited supply of materials for her poisons.
* MushroomMan: [[spoiler:Her Cognitive World outfit is styled this way, having a mushroom cap for a hat]].
* PurpleIsPowerful: Both Sucy's Persona and Cognitive World outfit have purple color schemes. Angitia has access to very powerful Aliments and Psy skills.
* ShipTease: Get's quite a bit with Akko. Sucy is noticeable unhappy when Lilim kisses Akko, and when Akko uses her personas to temporarily age herself into adulthood and pull Sucy into a hug, the latter gets ''very'' flustered due to being in close proximity to Akko's ample bosom.
* TarotMotifs: The Devil and the Lovers. For the former, Sucy is the most amoral of the team and absolutely unrepentant in her own personal wickedness, but she's ultimately very committed to her friends despite this. For the latter, in addition to [[AmbiguouslyGay possibly having feelings for Akko]], she's working surprisingly well with someone that's the polar opposite of her.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Sucy may be a member of Akko's team, but she's also an unrepentant {{Jerkass}}.

!!Angitia, the Great Snake Charmer

Sucy's Persona. A Pre-Roman Italian Deity.
----
* {{Medusa}}: Appearance-wise, Angitia resembles Medusa, having a feminine form with snakes for hair. GorgeousGorgon is NOT in effect, though.
* MushroomMan: Angitia's shoulder area resembles a mushroom cap.
* PoisonousPerson: Somewhat subverted. While she's ''Sucy's'' Persona, she doesn't start with skills that inflict Poison Ailment until later.
* XenomorphXerox: Her overall design is based off a Xenomorph.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lotte Jansson]]
!!Lotte Jansson

[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tv_tropes_6.png]]

Finnish Witch specialized in communicating with living items as well as all manners of spirits. A diehard fan of a romantic novel series knowns as Night Fall.
----
* NiceGirl: She's kind and open to others and is the one to keep her teammates in check. This is why Akko chooses her to console Diana during the Cognitive Diana incident since she is the only one that can provide a console to the girl. Sucy and Amanda are out of the question because.... [[LackOfEmpathy you]] [[JerkAss know]], and Akko is needed in combat so she can't do it.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Despite being the sanest member of her group, she has some brief lapses. When told that there is an alternate world with dangerous monsters, she is eager to go there. Akko even points it out.
--> '''Akko:''' Lotte… is it just me or are you actually weird inside?
** Lotte can be fanatical in her dreams like Akko and Sucy. Her dream being Night Fall.
* OnlySaneMan: Romance-novel issues aside, Lotte is the sanest of the main trio, with Sucy being a MadScientist and Akko having questionable sanity due to spending so long in the Cognitive World.
* TheTeamNormal: {{Downplayed|Trope}} - she's still a witch in training, but Lotte is the only major member of Akko's team who doesn't have a Persona yet.[[note]]Constanze and Jasminka aren't full members of the team ''yet''.[[/note]]

!!Wispy

[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wispy.png]]

Common species of fire spirit in the Magical World. Lotte's beloved pet and lives inside her skull lantern.

----

* AdaptationNameChange: Officially, she wasn't named. The name Wispy was added to address this.
* EnergyAbsorption: Can drain fire attacks to protect others, but there's a limit due to her size.
* PlayingWithFire: Her method of attack.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Diana Cavendish]]
!!Diana Cavendish
->'''Arcana''': The Priestess
->'''Persona''': [[Myth/ClassicalMythology Minerva]]

Arguably the best and most brilliant student in all of Luna Nova. Direct descendant of Nine Olde Witch, Beatrice Cavendish, and is the heiress to her line.

----
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: [[spoiler:Diana and Akko end up becoming friends relatively early into the story due to Akko helping her sort out her issues (and save Diana from her own Shadow)]].
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Is on both the giving and receiving end of this with Akko - she's more skilled at normal magic than Akko will ever be, but Akko's persona powers outclass her (and as a Wildcard, Akko's powers will ultimately exceed her no matter how much effort Diana puts into improving her Persona abilities).
* BecarefulWhatYouWishFor: Diana is obsessed in obtaining Persona powers and she got it after getting kidnapped by her Shadow self and nearly getting killed in the process.
* BreakTheHaughty: Goes through an absolutely epic example in the first two days of class: first, the unexpected encounter with Aradia. Then she tries to free her friends from the fear-induced coma the Persona has inflicted on them, only to fail miserably (and to add insult to injury, Akko manages to do what she couldn't and heal them using Pixie), resulting in her doubting herself. ''Then'', she tries to approach Akko on her powers, only to have her secret that she's a Shiny Chariot fan reveal to the entire school, [[{{Hypocrite}} something she had previously disparaged Akko for being]]. '''Then''', she sees Akko and co. entering the Cognitive World and attempts to blackmail them for the information, only for Sucy to throw it right back at her. And finally, [[spoiler:all of the aforementioned issues lead to her developing a Distortion, kidnapped, and almost getting killed by her Shadow]].
* DefrostingIceQueen: She starts out as a privileged RichBitch AcademicAlphaBitch, but after the '''epic'' BreakTheHaughty events mentioned above, she mellows out considerably and becomes Akko's friend.
* GreenEyedMonster: Akko having access to the power of Personas secretly drives her up the wall, as Diana views them as a threat to her being top of her class. [[spoiler:She moves past this once she accepts her Shadow]].
* HumblePie: The entire first arc counts as this, as she ends up humiliated and [[spoiler:kidnapped by her own Shadow]] after believing herself to be top of the Luna Nova food chain with regards to students. She takes it rather well and mellows out considerably.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Disparages Akko for liking Shiny Chariot despite being a fan herself. [[spoiler:Drops this after her Distortion is handled, as Diana comes to terms with her own desires and makes peace with Akko]].
* NotQuiteTheRightThing: After Persona abilities are explained to her, she assumes that Akko will be the JackOfAllTrades, and thus, while Akko will have more versatility than her, Diana will exceed Kagari in the field of the Priestess Arcana. While she's mostly right, neither party is aware that Akko maximizing her bonds with others will improve the Personas she can summon, eventually making her a MasterOfAll.
* TheResenter: [[spoiler:Shadow Diana reveals that despite her upholding the rules and traditions of witches, Diana actually hates it and hates the witch society, especially Luna Nova and her aunt Daryl for being selfish and hypocrites and ruining her family's legacy.]]
* SanitySlippage: The stress over Akko revealing her as a Chariot fan, combined with being unable to figure Akko and her Personas out, does a number on her, culminating in [[spoiler:her Shadow self kidnapping her]].
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: After [[spoiler:awakening her Persona and becoming a BigEater]], she becomes addicted to ramen.
* WhiteMage: Her skills and abilities as the Priestess Arcana lean here.

!!Minerva, the Goddess of Wisdom

Diana's Persona.
----
* AttackDrone: Owl of Minerva serves as this. Allows her to supplement her SquishyWizard status.
* FireIceLightning: The Owl can also be endowed with elemental attacks.
* {{Irony}}: Diana is incredibly refined and aristocratic, but Minerva has a childish and whimsical appearance. Given that she comes from Diana's repressed childish side, it makes sense.
* SinkOrSwimMentor: Her approach in teaching Diana is to let her deal with problems on her own. This causes an argument between her and Aradia who prefers the hands-on approach.
* SquishyWizard: Have access to '''4 elements''', which is incredibly powerful for an initial Persona, however in exchange she is a total GlassCannon and has the physical stat of wet noodles.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Hannah England and Barbara Parker]]

!!Tropes Applying to Both

* ButtMonkey: Put through an entire obstacle thanks to Lilim's antics.
* TheDividual: They're never seen separately and are effectively a single person.
* NominalImportance: Their only major role in the narrative so far is that they are Diana's friends.

----
!!Hannah England
A member of Diana's GirlPosse.
----
* ThoseTwoGirls: Has this dynamic with Barbara.
* TrueCompanions: With Diana and Barbara - when Diana is in her room after being outed as a Shiny Chariot fan, the other two immediately come to her aid and affirm that they don't think any less of her for it.
----

!!Barbara Parker
Another member of Diana's GirlPosse.
----
* ThoseTwoGirls: Has this dynamic with Hannah.
* TrueCompanions: With Diana and Hannah - when Diana is in her room after being outed as a Shiny Chariot fan, the other two immediately come to her aid and affirm that they don't think any less of her for it.
----

[[folder:Amanda O'Neil]]
!!Amanda O'neil
->'''Arcana''': The Chariot
->'''Persona''': Setenta

[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tv_tropes_17.png]]

A rebellious Witch from America. Luna Nova's residential tomboy and super popular with other students.

----
* BeneathTheMask: All of her bravado hides her various insecurities regarding her family.
* BirdsOfAFeather: Gets along well with Teddy when they realize that the other crossdresses, even swapping tips.
* GreenEyedMonster: Her envy towards her friends with Persona makes her desire to have a Persona of her own.
* HiddenDepths: Shadow Amanda reveals that the bravado Amanda puts up is just a mask to hide her own inadequacies.
* RedIsHeroic: Her Cognitive World outfit is primarily red in color, with green highlights.
* SecretlyWealthy: [[spoiler:The cognitive copy in Diana's Distortion reveals that she is from an affluent family, but she really does not like to be associated with them]].
* TheGunslinger: Has this motif in her Cognitive World outfit, along with the WildWest.
* WhatTheHellHero: She gets yelled at by Akko for going to the Cognitive World with just herself and her roommates without any real experience to actually brave through the obstacles there.
* WildWest: This is the theme of her Cognitive World outfit. She feels embarrassed by it because it reminds her that she was once a western fangirl.

[[folder:Constanze Amalie von Braunschbank Albrechtsberger]]
!!Constanze Amalie von Braunschbank Albrechtsberger
->'''Arcana''': The Magician

[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tv_tropes_c.png]]

Tech-savvy witch from Germany. Unlike most of Luna Nova, she's the only one with an interest in maxing tech and magic.

----
* TheBlacksmith: Acts as one for Akko and her team now that she is at Luna Nova [[spoiler: and thus cut off from her usual allies in Inaba]].
* ClosetGeek: [[spoiler:Reveals herself to be a fan of Mecha Anime when visiting Inaba]].
* CuteMute: Doesn't talk, either out of inability or disinterest.
* {{Magitek}}: Constanze has an interest in creating this, which puts her at odds with other witches, who scorn technology as a whole.
* TheQuietOne: She doesn't speak. It isn't specified if this is because she can't speak or because she chooses not to.
* UniformityException:
** Most witches are very distrustful of modern technology. Constanze, however, sees nothing wrong with making {{Magitek}}.
** Most Wild Card users tend to create the Magician Arcana as their first social link/confidant. Akko, however, forms her bond with Constanze well after she has formed her team.
* WrenchWench: Loves tinkering with machines and building {{Magitech}}.

!!Stanbot#1

[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tv_tropes_31.png]]

Constanze's assistant robot. #1 is considered the prototype of the series she is currently developing.
----

* DoAnythingRobot: Constanze can use magic to change it into almost any tools and weapons. That's already considering it already had an insane number of functions built-in.
* {{Magitek}}: Runs on Mana instead of electricity.
* MachineMonotone: It had that in the story as opposed to canon LWA's child voice. But it's hinted it's going to grow out of it.
* RobotBuddy: Acts as Constanze's assistant.
* VideoGameSystems: It is, of course, a modified [=PS1=], and can function like one.

A food-obsessed Witch from Ukraine.

----
* BigEater: As always. [[spoiler:She even manages to down THE CHALLENGE in Inaba on her first go - something that the Investigation Team was unable to achieve until after a lot of action in the Cognitive World]]. In a more unnerving example, [[spoiler:she's possessed by an Embodiment of Death known as Holodomor, the artificial famine engineered by the Soviet Union during Collectivization that killed millions of Ukrainians. This is the reason behind her large appetite]].
* DemonicPossession: [[spoiler:Is possessed by Holodomor, an Embodiment of Death formed from an artificial famine, and the reason why she's such a BigEater. Notably, in the occasions that it's asleep or sated, she's significantly more focused.]]
* EyesAlwaysShut: Her eyes are never shown as being open.
* UniformityException: Jasminka doesn't have a Persona. [[spoiler:She supports the team by manifesting as Holodomor and devouring enemy Shadows]].

The youngest teacher within Luna Nova's staff.

----
* IHatePastMe: {{Downplayed|Trope}}, but she's rather embarrassed by how much skin her Shadow Self shows off when dressed as a younger Chariot.
* ItsAllMyFault: Chariot feels responsible for Akko lacking normal magical talent due to something involving her show in Japan. Meeting Akko at Luna Nova eventually leads to her Shadow manifesting due to her feelings of guilt.
* LastOfHisKind: Is one of the last Umbra witches, if not ''the'' last.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: The fact that Ursula is Shiny Chariot is spoiled ''very early into the story'', and is part of the reason that her Shadow manifested herself rapidly.
* MyGreatestSecondChance: Mentoring Akko and help her regain her magic potential is this for her. Now that she's aware of Diana's presence at that show and her recovery from said show, she's even more determined to do the right thing.
* OhCrap: Not only did Chariot caused Akko and Diana to lose their magic but she also unintentionally attack the former, inciting the wrath of her ancestor's goddess.
* PurelyAestheticGlasses: As shown by Shadow Chariot, Ursula's glasses aren't needed for her to see. The implied reason she wears them is so that no one figures out she used to be Shiny Chariot.
* TwoLinesNoWaiting: Ursula's efforts to live up to Akko's beliefs in her make up the secondary plot of the story, though we mostly only see tidbits of it in the main story.
* UniformityException: Ursula's Shadow is, so far, the only Shadow shown that isn't immediately accepted by her physical self but doesn't go berserk. Instead, Shadow Ursula acts as an encouraging influence for her physical self, encouraging her to try and live up to the example she set for Akko.

----
* BadassCape: Has a prominent red cape, and is a representation of Ursula at her prime.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Yeah, she's called Shadow Chariot, but she's a lot more docile than normal shadows and is more focused on making Ursula back into the person she was who inspired Akko to become a Witch as opposed to who Ursula is right now.
* FieryRedhead: {{Downplayed|Trope}} at the moment, but her determination to whip Ursula into shape is pretty high, and unlike Ursula, she proudly shows off her bright red hair.
* HotterAndSexier: Shadow Chariot's normal attire shows off more skin than Ursula's normal outfit (including some of her inner thighs), and some of the art shows her wearing clothes that, while not too revealing, leave little to the imagination regarding Ursula's figure. Ursula is clearly embarrassed by this.
* LightIsGood: Wears a vibrant outfit and is one of several openly heroic shadows we see in the story.
* MamaBear: Shadow Chariot is the embodiment of Ursula's desire to protect Akko and her friends, so this is a given.
* PrimaryColorChampion: Her outfit is a mix of red, white, blue, and yellow, and while she isn't TheHero of the story, she's whipping said hero's mentor back into shape.
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: Like all Shadows, she has yellow eyes.

* AmbitionIsEvil: Is the embodiment of Diana's Ambition gone out of control, wanting to rise to the top and restore the magical world by any means.
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: This is likely more due to the art style, but the [[ErmineCapeEffect fur coat]] she wears in her normal form, while meant to invoke regality, comes off as being gaudy and disheveled, which in a way emphasizes the shallowness aspect of the Reversed Priestess - she attempts to have a regal appearance without actually possessing one. Her makeup also comes off as unflattering.
* EvilKnockoff: Wields a Cognitive replica of the Shiny Rod made out of tree roots. Shadow Chariot's own manages to win against it.
* GreenThumb: Uses plant magic a few times, most notably with her Cognitive Shiny Rod being a construct of vines.

* TarotMotifs: The Jester, representing someone who has the traits of a Fool, but is unwilling to work with others and has misguided aims. Fittingly, Angra Mainyu actually defies EvilIsSterile and is fully able to create good things, but willingly refuses to do so out of spite. His interactions with Akko also have him refuse to help her out of pride, even though his aid was something she really needed.
* VillainRespect: After the baseball riot incident is resolved, he actually shakes Akko's offered hand, saying that he's sure that they'll meet again before vanishing.
