* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: ''Kiwami 2'' uses the same Dragon Engine previously used for ''Yakuza 6'', bringing the remake up to the same visual standards of other contemporary UsefulNotes/PlayStation4 games. Though most of the cutscenes tend to just reuse animations from the original UsefulNotes/PlayStation2 game, there are definite additions of visual flair here and there such as the new animation of Ryuji pouring alcohol into a glass that a frightened underling is holding with both hands. The overflowing alcohol pours out and onto his hands in incredibly detailed realistically rendered streams of liquid.

* GoodBadBugs: What triggers a grab in the game's code is the little damage it does to enemies on contact. However, it is actually checking whether or or not the enemy has taken ''any'' damage at all, leading to the unintended ability to snatch enemies from afar [[https://twitter.com/YkzModdingFacts/status/1767601310151709047 by tossing something on them]] and grabbing at the same time.

* QuestionableCasting: Satoshi Tokushige's performance as Daigo Dojima feels stale, stiff and jarringly out of place among far more skilled voice actors in the cast. ** In March 2018, [[https://soranews24.com/2018/03/20/23-year-old-tokyo-policewoman-falls-in-movie-style-love-with-yakuza-member-real-life-ensues/ news broke]] about a young Japanese policewoman in her mid-20s who was having an illicit romantic relationship with a yakuza man roughly a decade older than her, even going so far as to travel across Japan together and even sharing classified information about an investigation into one of his fellow yakuza members. She resigned as soon as her department suspended her. A Japanese blog that reported the news even started off the story [[http://blog.esuteru.com/archives/9077113.html with a screenshot of Kiryu and Sayama.]]

* ScrappyMechanic: The game's inventory system is carried over largely unchanged from the first game, bringing the issues of a tiny inventory size and the rarity of Item Boxes with it. The major change to the system, that equipped items are no longer considered to be in your inventory, allowing you to equip items and fill up your inventory with other things simultaneously, brings a new headache: In places where you are required to unequip items, if your inventory is full then you cannot even do that, requiring another Item Box trip that would've been unnecessary in ''Yakuza''.

* {{Narm}}: Just like in the original game, the scene where Kiryu watches Kaoru Sayama's video is supposed to be a dramatic moment, and it is for the most part. However, when Kiryu slams his hand on the desk and gets up in the ''Kawami'' version, the chair he is on very noticeably glitches and flies off screen. Though only a brief moment, not only is it hard to ignore, but it undermines the scene due to being more comedic than was intended.

** Kawara has come under noticeably more scrutiny in modern times due to being a cop known for [[spoiler:not just killing criminals instead of properly arresting them but outright ''targetting'' foreign Korean criminals making for what is now seen as an unpleasant combination of a KillerCop and a BigotWithABadge. While the other characters don't approve of it and there's a reason for his actions, he's still ultimately considered an ally on the heroes side and having this sorta character being portrayed positively in any capacity in contemporary times is... [[RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgment a far harder sell]] than it used to be.]]
