** The series seems to go out of its way to avoid referencing America's solo run. Her current university life is never even alluded to, her personality is brought back down to taciturn than provocative, her ShipTease with Magdalena and Salgado are dismissed in favor of her new relationship with Ramone Watts, and America explicitly says that she can't travel through time, which is a power she gained in the first arc of her solo.
** The series also portrays America and Clint in a much better light. Back in All-New Hawkeye, which portrayed Clint as a total loser who needs Kate more than she needs him, had America talk dismissively about Clint, encouraging Kate not to feel bad about severing her working relationship with him and overall being quite insulting towards a man she'd never met and only knew by reputation. Here, America and Clint having a positive working, relationship with America cheering him on when he makes a difficult-but-life-saving shot, gladly admitting how awesome his ImprobableAimingSkills are, and otherwise treating him how one would treat their friend's older brother.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: The baby landshark that Gwenpool adopts in Issue #7 and named “Jeff” became tremendously popular among readers from its first appearance. When Creator/GailSimone held a poll to determine the best comics shark character, it accumulated over 4700 votes, Jeff ultimately coming in 2nd by less than 1 percent. And that’s after just one appearance versus his opponent King Shark having been in comics for over 25 years. Jeff would later go on to get his own spinoff comic Webcomic/ItsJeff

* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: America and Quinten, to some extent. The former had gained a massive hatedom after her highly despised solo series gave her really obnoxious characterisation, while Quinten has just been a huge CreatorsPet who many see as a overpowered KarmaHoudini (he was created to be the X-Men/mutant equivalent of a school shooter, but got revived years later and promoted to a main character for some reason). This book rerailed America's characterisation, making her nicer and chummier with characters if still quite reserved (so more how she was in Young Avengers), while Quinten got called out on his jackassery, was very much TheFriendNobodyLikes, and his powers were well-utilised but portrayed as less overpowered.

** Gwenpools relationship with Quentin makes a lot of sense from her perspective since he is everything she has spent her career trying to be, he was only meant to be around for one story but the people at Marvel liked him so much he ended up being used all the time, since Gwen is aware of how important this is to her continued existence she knows how useful it would be if the higher ups associated her with him.

Considering how popular her own book was, Gwen doesn't seem that divisive, especially since the main worry as mentioned elsewhere in this page was that she would be written out of character.

** Gwenpool, America, and Quentin are highly divisive additions. The first being a generally polarising character due to her personality, theme, and real-world conceptual origins, the middle having a widely-panned solo series that heavily derailed her character, and Quentin having a long history of jerkassery, have not endeared them to many.

** Kate Bishop's story role. Some liked her being the main character of the series and leading the team due to her well-received Hawkeye run, while others viewed her as getting too much attention. And queer fans claimed that Kate showed a tendency in WCA to react negatively to anything gay happening around her.

* LauncherOfAThousandShips: Gwenpool has already become one, as previews mention her going through "really interesting relationship developments." People have been speculating these as hints at romance, and began pairing her up with literally everyone on the team. It helps that Gwen herself has a serious case of HeroWorship with nearly every character she meets. The cover for issue #4 even teases one of the most unlikely ([[spoiler:Gwen/Quentin]]).

* AuthorsSavingThrow: In the first issue of America's solo series, she broke up with her girlfriend Lisa, in a manner that was widely viewed as contrived ConflictBall and also bad representationally, as there are not a lot of steady queer relationships in comics. While she does not get back with Lisa in this series (nor with FanPreferredCouple target Kate Bishop), America ends up finding new love with Fuse's sister Ramone.

Her current university life is never even alluded to; her LoveInterest Magdalena is forgotten about; and America explicitly says that she can't travel through time, which is a power she gained early on in her solo.
