Trope misuse, Broken Base is more fitting, since there is quite a lot of people questioning the status of November Reigns as the Golden Ending

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: [[spoiler: Is the 'November Reigns' really the GoldenEnding that many fans see it as? While it does allow for a peaceful transition of power in Colorado and sees the Patriach deposed without bloodshed, reaching it actually requires quite a lot of morally questionable actions by the Rangers. In generally necessitating to abandon and even hurt various innocent refugees trying to find a place to live in Colorado, (to the point that this very wiki calls the Wasteland Refugees a "trap" and that helping them is a fools errand) and instead suck up to the, harsh and corrupt, Marshals and the incredibly elitist 100 Families to get their support. Meanwhile in playthroughts where the player works with the Patriach and then resolves to stay in Colorado also sees power peacefully passing to the Rangers three years later when the Patriach dies of natural causes, achieving essentially the same as November Reigns a few years later, without the need for the various ShootTheDog actions required for it. Even the argument that November Reigns sees the Patriach punished for his actions rings a bit hollow when that ending instead has Angela Deth, who while a Veteran Ranger is also an unrepentant murderer and willing to work with warlords and slavers such as Ironclad Crodite, become a KarmaHoudini instead. (Also for the agrument that November Reigns, and only November Reigns, supposedly leads to Colorado becoming a democracy see CommonKnowledge below)]]

* CommonKnowledge: [[spoiler: The November Reigns ending brining democracy to Colorado, something mentioned several times in this very wiki. In truth the epilogue of the ending only talkes about the Rangers taking over Colorado without bloodshed with the approval of the Marshals and 100 Families. Any actual implementation of democracy isn't mentioned at all in the ending itself. Some characters like Angela mention it as a goal after overthrowing the Patriach either violently or peacfully, but the epilogue leaves it open wether the Rangers actually implement elections or just rule Colorado as the new Overlords.]]

** An incredibly intense, minor key version of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic" occurs at the end of a dungeon to .

* MeaningfulName: The Patriarch shares his last name with UsefulNotes/JamesBuchanan, widely regarded as the man whose bad decisions led directly to UsefulNotes/TheAmericanCivilWar. The Patriarch's decisions, such as paying tribute to the gangs of the Plains, instigating the expulsion and massacre of the Dorseys, and failing to control his children, led directly to the events of the game, in which civil society in Colorado is swiftly nearing the brink of collapse.

Being part of a talking head conversation the corpse is given a disturbing amount of detail and when Vic turns its head so the two can look at each other you can hear squelching. Then his head falls off.

* SlowPacedBeginning: It's a good thing the game starts with the epic ambush and subsequent fight for revenge/escape. After that sequence, the player is tasked with arresting three different people outside the city of Colorado Springs, and it can be several HOURS before the group even leaves Colorado Springs to explore any of the larger map of Colorado, much less pursue the main objectives.

** Liberty Buchanan is fought in a cramped room with a handful of enemies. Since you and your team are running end game equipment at this point and have figured out the best way to exploit the game's mechanics, she's a cake walk.

** Submachine Guns are monsters late game. With maxed out Coordination combined with StormerOnce per turn, if you move - and submachine guns require a lot of positioning - your next attack costs no AP and Trigger HappyScoring a kill adds 3 AP back perks you can get up to five attacks in a single round, while most firearms struggle to get two. Add RecklessExtra damage when not in cover, which makes it more worth it to move around the battlefield perk on top of it, and a PDW-01 or Ripper submachine guns, and your gunner can destroy entire rooms. This is especially to contrast Wasteland 2, where submachine guns were mostly useless, even after the Director's Cut overhaul of combat mechanics and weapon classes already buffed them significantly.

** The Kodiak can render many battles on the Colorado map into mere speed bumps. Literally by just running over the enemies. This can one-shot most foes you encounter, and even the dreaded Scorpitrons can't take much abuse from the Kodiak's mighty treads.
