* HarsherINHindsight: The segment "Girlfriend, Wife, Stroke" has Nicole Jasper turning down a date from a patient, saying she's HappilyMarried. When she and Travis appeared on Characters/TheAmazingRace23, they fit that mold just fine, until the final third of the season.

Added DiffLines:

* RetroactiveRecognition: Nicole and Travis Jasper would later appear on Characters/TheAmazingRace23

"What an Idiot!" is now Flame Bait.

* WhatAnIdiot: Quite a few patients injuries are self-inflicted:
** The greatest example goes to the guy who lost a couple of fingers trying to clear a snowblower....While it was still running....[[FacePalm For the second time.]] Both times he lost fingers.
** Another man broke his ankle. So he decides to pour concrete over it to make a cast..... Turns out that not only is concrete setting a caustic chemical, it's also an exothermic reaction. That means it burns through both heat and chemical. [[FromBadToWorse It gets worse,]] he gave himself stitches to heal a gash on his waist with copper wiring. The man's response when the physician asked if he used medication: "I had a beer or two"
** One woman managed to accidentally shoot herself in the shin (during her bachelorette party, no less!) when she dropped her gun getting out of the car. Fortunately, aside from needing orthopedic surgery to fix the leg, she was otherwise fine, and her fiance didn't blame her and was just glad she wasn't hurt any worse.

* SpecialEffectFailure: One halloween episode had a patient with an axe stuck in his head... but in order to make the prop axe fit, they stuck it into an absolutely ''hideous'' wig that was obviously fake.

* SeasonalRot: Season 13 was not the most impressive season. The new backgrounds, transitions, and music gave it a LighterAndSofter feel. Also the stories were less shocking and often relied on the patients grasping harder to the IdiotBall such as one patient not telling the doctor she was around a machine that had just ''exploded'' right before coming in.

* {{Narm}}: Much like a lot of other series, this show contains "Dramatic re-enactments".... which are, to say the least, ''not'' done by professionals.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome:
** One (male) nurse actually dragged a doctor who had been shot in the head, from a gunman in the hospital, to a side room while the gunman was still running around. Then he went back out for a gurney.
** When there was no plastic surgeon available to reconstruct a patient's mangled face, the ER doctor had no choice but to do it himself, including repairing a severed facial muscle. Despite having sore arms ''and'' a sore back from doing photography the day before, he did such a good job on both procedures that the actual plastic surgeon was impressed, and the patient healed completely, with almost no trace of her horrific injury.

* NightmareFuel: A lot of the stories.
** One woman had bug larva actually burrow into her head and were eating her scalp.
** One man had a personal living nightmare. A man was admitted to the ER, completely unresponsive except he kept randomly screaming in a high pitch. Eventually they found an insect stuck in his ear and removed it. The second he did he comes to and starts thanking the Doctor. Turns out that he had such a fear of insects the bug in his ear he completely shut him down, except to scream when the bug moved.
