** Thrust, once allied with Unicron, eventually becomes one by the time of "Union", as he's ecstatic at the thought of the planet-sized monster destroying ''his own race''.

* CompleteMonster: Thrust. Sure, he was tempted by Sideways in the first place, but he eventually willingly [[spoiler: joins Unicron and is ecstatic at the thought of the planet eater killing his race.]] Also, in his TheReasonYouSuckSpeech towards Galvatron, he says he's planned out his [[spoiler: and Unicron's]] career of evil. Fortunately, [[spoiler: [[KarmicDeath it doesn't end well for Thrust]].]]

* EthnicScrappy: Carlos. "Holy frijoles!" Though it should be noted that "[[TheScrappy scrappy]]" status is shared by all humans in the series, as is usual for this franchise.

** Demolishor. One of the few ''Armada'' characters to ever get referenced in the franchise again. Showing up both in [[TransformersShatteredGlass Shattered Glass]] and as a pre-order bonus in ''[[VideoGame/TransformersWarForCybertron Transformers: War for Cybertron]]''.

* EthnicScrappy: Carlos. "Holy frijoles!" "TheScrappy" status is shared by all humans in the series, as usual.

* SpecialEffectsFailure / OffModel: The show is infamous (though not to the degree of [[WesternAnimation/TheTransformers Transformers Generation 1]]) for its ve-he-hery ropey animation quality, especially during its first half. Characters are often miscolored, badly proportioned, and for several scenes in the episode "Decisive Battle"[[note]]considered the wost animated episode of the series[[/note]], Starscream is literally just a floating black dot with wings! Robot animation in the first few episodes often amounted to unmoving drawings sliding across the scene. At times, you can barely tell what's going on because the animation is just nuts.
** The very liberal use of Photoshop outside of the obvious coloring.

* TheProblemWithLicensedGames: Largely Averted. So much so that before ''[[VideoGame/TransformersWarForCybertron War for Cybertron]]'', it was considered by many to be the best Transformers game ever. It's only issues are it's difficulty (not because of FakeDifficulty, it's just a hard game) and small roster (only Optimus, Hot Shot and Red Alert are playable).

* FoeYay: Pretty much every scene between Megatron and Optimus makes the entire war sound like a lover's quarrel as well as their overwhelming obsession with each other. Hotshot and Sideways have their moments as well, along with Starscream and Jetfire.
** Just see Megatron's reaction at [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG6rzdpvJ7c&feature=related Optimus' ''death'']].

* HoYay: Tons of this with Hotshot and Red Alert and the entire dialog between Jetfire and Optimus when they're talking about what they used to do and the whole scene where they are explaining why they can link-up after and during the battle with (mainly) Starscream is rife with suggestion, especially when Optimus says its been awhile since they had done it.
** Demolisher practically melts when Megatron takes a hit for him and says when Demolisher expresses concern and I quote Megatron "It doesn't matter as long as you're alright". It was an act on Megs' side but Demolisher is pretty much viewed as being one hundred and ten percent gay for Megatron.

** Not to mention the very liberal use of Photoshop outside of the obvious coloring.
