Removed Franchise Original Sin because it is referring to Pixar as a whole instead of Toy Story.

* FranchiseOriginalSin: The film's emotional ending relies heavily on the audience's nostalgia for the ''Toy Story'' franchise. [=NitPix=] [[https://youtu.be/KAIz7k5If24?t=453 argues]] that this encouraged Pixar to generate "member movies", sequels which rely on nostalgia rather than developing new character arcs and are usually released decades after the original. He says that while ''Toy Story 3'' was justified in doing this since the audience has grown up with Andy, it inspired Pixar to produce a slew of disappointing sequels such as ''WesternAnimation/MonstersUniversity'' and ''WesternAnimation/FindingDory''.

* SugarWiki/DevelopmentHeaven: Pixar could have had any actor play the now-grown Andy. Instead, they tracked down the '''''original actor''''', who had basically retired from acting at that point, to reprise the role. In fact, there's nary an [[TheOtherDarrin other Darrin]] in sight in the third film - ''every returning character'' is voiced by the actors who voiced them in the first two, except for Slinky, and even then it was only because Creator/JimVarney died.

** The main characters. '''Yes, all of them.''' The movie is about them weighing their options about whether they want to be thrown out and killed, be stored in the attic for years until they're played with again (if they're lucky), or be donated to a day care center all while facing the fact that their owner will never see them again. Not to mention, toys don't age. It must be pretty sad living in a world where everything else ages and you don't. They definitely deserve hugs.

About seeing him as sympathetic for objectively different reasons than intended/acknowledged in-work. Being an established CM means he's been determined as evil beyond legitimate sympathy. And prerelease doesn't count as not the case in the final product.

* EightPointEight:
** The only reason this movie didn't duplicate the 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes that its predecessors got? Two bad reviews. If that hadn't happened, then the first three ''Toy Story'' movies would have made history as the first film trilogy to achieve this. The worst part of it? One of the reviews wasn’t even legitimately criticizing the film; it was done by a troll seeking to prevent this exact achievement. Creator/TimAllen even called them out on this.

* UnintentionallySympathetic: Despite the writer's efforts on making Lotso as horrible and unsympathetic as possible, there are some people who feel sympathy for Lotso because of his backstory.
