** The author's RonTheDeathEater treatment of Cody similarly split readers. Some were fine with it, pointing out that nothing Cody did in canon contradicted anything he does or says here, with even things like the reveal that [[spoiler:he only hooked up Gwen and Trent in hopes of making Gwen like him more or the reveal he stole Gwen's bra]] still being possible. Others hated it, pointing out that they took someone who canon has shown to be a somewhat perverted, but still overall NiceGuy and made him just as bad, if not worse, than Sierra, his canonical stalker. A third camp takes a more neutral view, saying that while they don't especially ''like'' Cody's portrayal, it doesn't have much of an effect on the overall story, so they could simply live with it.

* BrokenBase: The readers were split on how "Sundae Muddy Sundae" (widely considered to be one of, if not the worst episode of the show) went mostly unchanged. Some felt it was fine, considering that Courtney returned for the finale where she and Gwen properly made up for everything that went down and what was changed was enough to make it easier to swallow. Others say that it should have been changed further and should have removed the chart, even going on to accuse the authors (one of whom admits to strongly hating Courtney) of being too biased in their hatred of her.

** In the third episode, Owen mentioned he had "drain bamage". MK would soon said that in canon in the second season of the reboot.

* HilariousInHindsight: In "No Eggspects the Spanish Opposition" Owen dresses up as a bear in order to take something from it, only for it to backfire when the bear takes a liking to him. This concept gets used with komodo dragons instead of bears in ''[[WesternAnimation/TotalDramaPresentsTheRidonculousRace The Ridonculous Race]]'', nearly a year after the chapter's release.

** The Pahkitew Island cast is generally considered to be the worst in Total Drama history, largely due to being unrealistic. This is lampshaded by Chef in the epilogue:[[note]]It's worth noting that this is also a reference to an

* WhatAnIdiot: At the beginning of "Zeek and Ye Shall Find", Mal has had the votes he tried to plant of Alejandro replanted on him. Owen and Noah were in the cabin sleeping at the time and Mal has been terrorizing Owen almost the whole game, giving him reason to believe it was him.\\

* TearJerker: The sense of finality the end of ''My Big Fat Total Drama All-Stars Wedding'' gives with the first and second generation contestants has been praised by many as being the perfectly beautiful and emotional sendoff for the contestants that the series ultimately never gave its viewers.

* RonTheDeathEater: Cody, whom the authors make little attempt to hide their intense hatred for. In canon, he was indeed a perverted dweeb with hopeless delusions of being a cool ladies man, but despite that, he was also a nice and friendly person who was very much capable of being respectful and gentlemanly when [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy he wanted his beloved to be happy]] (as was the case when Gwen hooked up with Trent, which he actually helped with making happen). In this story, he has none of his redeeming qualities and is instead depicted as a dirty liar and a selfish {{jerkass}} whose aforementioned IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy moment was secretly a shallow attempt by him to make Gwen like him even more.

* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: Alongside all of the canonical instances, the fic adds a bunch of new ones.
** Starting off with "Heroes vs. Villains": The canon moment where Sierra hops into the carriage without realizing Courtney hasn't gotten out yet? That moment's in the rewrite too... but right after Sierra gets out, it's [[BigFun Owen's]] turn, and he practically ''flattens'' Courtney who's still in there.
*** Plus when he mentions that he'll have to go "number poo" soon, Courtney can be seen hyperventilating in the outhouse.
** Lightning briefly transforming into a super-genius after being zapped by a jellyfish in "Evil Dread". But another shock to his noggin reverses the effect, much to everyone's disappointment.
** In "Moon Madness", a side effect of the Blue Harvest Moon, Dawn can't read the auras of the animals, which horrifies her. Luckily, as soon as the moon passes, she's fully capable of seeing that bird's concern for his eggs, that bunny's love life, [[TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers and that yeti's film career]].
** The newly added antics from Owen and/or Noah are often the comedic highlight of any chapter, such as when Noah dresses Owen up as a female bear to seduce a mutant bear in "No One Eggs-pects the Spanish Inquisition".
** Lightning's subverted epiphany of humility in the first Aftermath after Geoff and Bridgette show him a montage of how annoying everyone found his egomania to be.

** Gwen and Duncan's relationship remains steady and strong because, unlike in canon, they share their respective worries (Gwen trying to mend bridges with Courtney, Duncan worried about losing his edge) and show total support to each other, showing maturity on both sides. Even after [[spoiler:Duncan gets arrested like in canon for blowing up Chris' [[InsistentTerminology cottage]], Gwen sends him off with a good luck kiss and he remains supportive of her throughout his time locked up. And when Bridgette tosses her bouquet after her wedding, guess which pair catches it (aside from Owen and Noah).]]
*** At the end of "Evil Dread", Gwen's bummed because no matter what she does (and it's hinted that Chris is manipulating things to keep the hate strong), she can't mend bridges with Courtney. Duncan promptly stops laughing at his ex to tell her that despite her place on the Villainous Vultures, [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre she's not a villain, but more of an anti-hero.]] Gwen then admits that a big perk of being on said team is that she's with her boyfriend.
** Dawn and Noah developing feelings for each other and having some cute couple scenes, but there is no diminishment of their [[DeadpanSnarker respective]] [[AllLovingHeroine personalities]] in the process. There's also never any fighting between them as with other couples on this crazy show; even when Dawn confesses [[spoiler:that she knew all along that Mal had returned]], Noah doesn't blame her for any of the trouble that lunatic's caused. [[spoiler:He goes so far as help her set up an animal shelter, even being [[BadBoss Chris']] servant to get the funds necessary.]]
** Noah and Owen. Best friends that have each other's back no matter what. [[spoiler:When Mal torments Owen, Noah shows immediate concern and does everything he can to help his "chubby buddy."]]
** Gwen and Zoey's friendship gets even more moments throughout the episodes, to the point where each calls the other a surrogate sister.
