** [[BewareTheSuperman Craig Wallace, aka Atoman]], is the seemingly heroic leader of the Seven Sentinels. In truth, [[FakeUltimateHero all their heroic exploits are faked]]. Atoman uses this as a cover for the Sentinels' true purposes: [[WouldHurtAChild child molestation]]. Sexually abusing their sidekicks, Atoman has children groomed or raped to become {{sex slave}}s to the Seven, indulging in his taste for superpowered children and teens himself on a frequent basis.
** [[EldritchAbomination M'rggla Qualtz]] is the so-called "Vigilante from Venus" who in actuality is a monstrous alien horror who partakes in the usual proclivities of the Sentinels with horrible aplomb. Qualtz is also the elusive "[[SerialKiller Libra Killer]]", responsible for the gruesome deaths of ten prostitutes in Neonopolis, devouring their pineal glands and keeping their heads as [[CreepySouvenir trophies]]. When captured, Qualtz uses her PsychicPowers to literally MindRape one of the officers to goad her into violence, clearly relishing her victim's violation.

** The Seven Sentinels in general. So, you've got a bunch of CaptainErsatz characters based on the ComicBook/JusticeLeagueOfAmerica, and in their first appearance they try defending one of their teammates despite that said teammate is a shapeshifting serial murderer. It gets worse. [[spoiler: They're a bunch of rapists and child molesters who boost their public image by claiming they've fought a number of intergalactic wars and saved the Earth from alien threats, when those are really covers to hide whatever sexual torment they've inflicted on their children and sidekicks. To drive the point home, we get to see Peregrine and Jack's disgusted reactions to footage of Atoman getting what is implied to be a blow job from the Sizzler's preteen sidekick Scorchy. And as we later find out, Scorchy is the Sizzler's ''daughter''. ''The Forty-Niners'' gives the Sentinels layers of FridgeHorror by reinforcing that the Hound has had more than "Pup" for a sidekick. Now let that sink in...]]

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Was Peregrine's brutal assault of Sun Woman [[spoiler:because Sun Woman's a child molester, or because Sun Woman having molested younger girls made her seem gay and it offended Peregrine's conservative Christian values? There's no discussion as to why specifically Peregrine went apeshit on Sun Woman as they were arresting her.]]

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Smax. Jack Phantom, King Peacock, Wolfspider and Joe Pi are also extremely popular, despite the latter barely featuring in the original series.

* DisproportionateRetribution: Girl One assaults her superior officer, Kemlo "Hyperdog" Caesar, because his colorblindness means he can see past her color-changing skin effect and has thus seen her naked on countless occasions. However, Girl One is an actual exhibitionist and is walking around naked of her own choice and aware of the full implications of it; he's not intruding on her privacy in any way and is at most guilty of not looking away from her, something nobody expects of him or anyone else she interacts with every day. However, we later finds out she was programmed to be an exhibitionist rather than choosing to be one, and while she's come to terms with it, she relies on her color control to function as a clothing surrogate to maintain some pseudo-modesty, which he breached (and intentionally didn't reveal to her). Also, despite his protest that he's a dog and thus not interested in human women, he actually is. All in all, it's a deeply muddied issue.

* HilariousInHindsight: In Top Ten, there's a racist cop named "Shock-Headed Peter" Cheney. His stupidity gets him in trouble frequently, so some of the cops joke that all the electricity he controls must have fried his brain. Years later, ''Manga/BokuNoHeroAcademia'' would introduce the character of Denki Kaminari, who has similar electrical powers... the overuse of which actually does (temporarily) fry his brain.

** M'rrgla Qualtz, the "Vigilante from Venus," is also [[spoiler: the Libra Killer, an EldritchAbomination living in the sewers of Neopolis and feeding off the fluids in their heads . She's killed over 10 known prostitutes and collected their severed heads. While imprisoned, she tries to trick Monsoon into freeing her by putting him in a brief LotusEaterMachine, and later invades Jack's mind to mentally have sex with her. She ''literally'' committed MindRape on Jack, and the look on her face when Jack is threatening to kill her makes it clear she's enjoying every moment of it. It's also implied she's a sexual predator like the rest of the Seven Sentinels, and with her shapeshifting abilities, God can only guess what she must've done to the Young Sentinels.]]
