* FriendlyFandoms: In a roundabout way, with fans of ''Series/SaturdayNightLive'' as both fans of ''SNL'' and the Try Guys came together to lambast ''SNL'''s ShallowParody of the Guys' statement on Ned's cheating scandal and subsequent removal from the company with both groups calling out just how much the skit got wrong and how its meanspirited portrayal of the guys as {{Attention Whore}}s trying to use the scandal for clout despite their measured and mature real life handling of the situation was extremely tasteless. Unsurprisingly, the writer of that SNL skit is a friend of Ned's.

* HarsherInHindsight: The final video released before Ned's cheating scandal became public was "Try Guys Try High Diving" with Ned's final on-screen appearance being belly flopping into the pool and out of sight. All subsequent appearances were cut from the video backlog entirely.

* CommonKnowledge: Though he has a reputation for being good at everything, Eugene himself has pointed out several occasions where he's lost various games and competitions (and even a casual viewer of ''Without a Recipe'' or ''Without Instructions'' will know his success is never guaranteed).

While many people within the Try Guys fandom enjoyed Ned's schtick as the married one/father of the group and found his competitive nature during videos amusing a growing number of fans became disillusioned with Ned's on-camera persona. This portion of the fanbase found his competitiveness during challenge videos unnecessary, his reliance on being seen as the wholesome family man tired, his insistence on being seen as Italian borderline racist, and generally found him to be boring compared to the other Try Guys.

* DieForOurShip: Thankfully averted! Despite the popularity and amount of fan content for fictional ships Eugene/Keith and Eugene/Zach their real life partners are well loved by the fandom, with the fanbase understanding and respecting the guys sexualities and relationships.

* SugarWiki/HeReallyCanAct: It's always been a running joke that Eugene excels at everything he does but his work in the animated film ''WesternAnimation/Nimona2023'' solidified the fact that he's a talented voice actor in his own right. Fans flocked to Creator/{{Netflix}} to watch the movie as soon as it released before heaping praise onto him online. In particular the scene showcasing his character Goldenloin's inner thoughts really showcases Eugene's range as a voice actor.

* MorePopularReplacement: While none of the guys have been directly replaced and are adamant this won't be happening at all, the majority of fans have made it clear they prefer Kwesi James and Johnny Cakes starring in videos over ex-member Ned.

* VanillaProtagonist: In comparison to the other three guys, Ned was usually seen as this by fans.

* AudienceAlienatingEra: The Orange Era. While many fans continued to stand behind the group during one of the most turbulent periods of their careers, not to mention their lives, a lot of their audience was put off by some of the content they produced in late 2022 onwards. The combination of Ned's removal, Zach's hospital visits, and Eugene and Keith's focus on other projects meant that the majority of their videos during this time were very different to what they normally produced. To begin with a lot of videos had to be edited to remove Ned or were outright scrapped, their schedule changed constantly due to issues outside their control meaning videos had to be created quickly and the upload frequency scaled back so they could catch up again, and other members of staff or friends of the group had to be roped into taking part in place of the core members. Although it's completely understandable why the videos produced during the Orange Era were made this way, there are still parts of the fanbase that are put off by how different the content is in comparison to the group's usual videos. On the flip side there are just as many fans who love seeing how much more authentic and happy the guys seem to be in the newer videos and enjoy seeing more of Rachel, Kwesi, and Johnny.

* OffendingTheCreator'sOwn: Debatable given that Ned's DNA results revealed he's actually only 18% Italian and he has no real ties to the country or its culture. Regardless, whenever Ned attempted to cook Italian dishes on Without A Recipe or No Recipe Roadtrip fans from the country were quick to point out his various mispronunciations of Italian words and chided him for his lack of real knowledge of Italy and its cuisine. Some Italian fans have even gone as far as to say that Ned's actions and behaviour are outright racist.

* MemeticMutation: Clingsberry Crunch.[[note]]In the [=TryPod=] episode 184, Keith, Zach and Miles talks and jokes about a fake ad of a candy bar filled with gunk that appears and clings on random places. They decide to go to town with joke by making it a thing, going as far as creating a fake commercial in the podcast and even an actual [[https://www.clingsberrycrunch.com/ website]] about it! Hilariously, fans goes along with it by making fanart and writing reviews of where they found them to different flavors and products.[[/note]]

* FandomEnragingMisconception: The Try Guys are guys who try things, despite doing one sponsored video on the topic they are NOT "internet pranksters". Many news outlets have dubbed them as being a prank channel, particularly in news coverage in late 2022, needless to say fans of the group and even [[GameTheory MatPat]] himself will correct anyone who makes this mistake.
