* HilariousInHindsight: One of Homer's suggestions to Lisa is to tell Ralph (who's interested in her, but she's not interested in him) "Six simple words: I'm not gay, but I'll learn". A later episode would reveal that Lisa [[ExperimentedInCollege had a relationship with another woman in college]].

* UnintentionallySympathetic: While loudly and aggressively rejecting Ralph on public television seems like a KickTheDog moment on Lisa's part, it can actually be tempting to take her side. She had explained to Ralph, clearly and kindly, that she didn't want to be in a relationship with him, [[StalkerWithACrush but he continued to pursue her, regardless of her feelings, with borderline stalker behavior]]. She finally reached RageBreakingPoint when Ralph over-zealously declared that he was going to marry her (again, on public television) which can be interpreted as a tamer version of an "EntitledToHaveYou".
* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Ralph isn't a malicious character by any means, but he can be seen as this when he continues to pursue Lisa despite her telling him that she wasn't ready for a relationship. While it is true that he's just a kid experiencing his first crush and acting on awful love advice from his father, his relentless pursuit and inability to take no for an answer do make him seem a little self centered.
