* CompleteMonster: ''[[ShowWithinAShow Espers and Madness]]'' (''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI'' & ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII''): [[Characters/FinalFantasyVIKefkaPalazzo Kefka Palazzo]] is just as evil as he was in the game he debuted in. After seemingly having been defeated by the Returners at the top of his tower, Kefka is BroughtDownToBadass in the ruins of Midgar. Joining Yuffie while appearing to be friendly, Kefka helps the ''[=FFVII=]'' party turn the rampaging Espers into magicite. Eventually, Kefka betrays the party, taking the Magicite for himself and using his newly-reacquired God of Magic form to kill Tifa in a HopelessBossFight. Having given himself a floating castle to rule as a god, Kefka unleashes extremely powerful attacks against Cloud's party and Terra in one of the hardest {{Superboss}} fights in the franchise. Kefka gets the last laugh, and uses his dying words to taunt Cloud about a malevolent presence inside the Lifestream.
