* DarknessInducedAudienceApathy: A very mild example, but still (arguably) there. Due to the fact that the Resistance is constantly losing fights, the Jellax are nearly impervious to any and all damage, there is no known way to reverse the Jellaxification process, and that the Senshi have been enslaved, it really doesn't look like humanity will be able to stop the Jellax from winning the war. Moreover, as noted in some stories, the Jellax converting humans might be good for individuals, but collectively it's bringing a whole race, if not species, to extinction. Not bad if you happen to think the Jellax are totally in the right, but not very comforting if you're someone who's siding with the humans instead. Even the humans aren't always portrayed in the best light, as some stories have the Resistance [[HumansAreBastards jeopardize the safety of other people to merely stop the Jellax, never try to find a way to diplomatically discuss issues with Jamanen, and make claims about the Jellax that not only make them look purely bad, but can be seen as only somewhat plausible at best, outright lies at worst.]] Altogether, until returns, it not only looks like the Jellax will win but that they will be right about humanity.

** Hmm, an alien race appears on Earth, with the ability to transform humans into their kind through abilities granted to them and are making a world where humanity must join them as their own? Are we talking TheJellaxSaga this story or TheConversionBureau?
*** That being said, TheJellaxSaga is relatively calmer in its themes, does not have as much of a BrokenBase, and does not generally favor one side or the other in its camps of fans. If anything, it encourages the idea that GoodVersusGood neither GreyAndGreyMorality side WhiteAndGreyMorality is truly bad and that if they took the time to talk, they'd be at peace.
** While more of a "counterpart" or "foil series" than similar, and almost certainly of the unintentional variety, but the series as a whole can be seen as "Texhnolyze Texhnolyzes counterpart" in some ways. Both stories deal with an apocalyptic event that kills most of humanity, both have humanity slowly losing and even have some characters cross some form of the DespairEventHorizon before giving into the pressures of the world around them, both have antagonists who hold a IRejectYourReality philosophy in regards to their enemies, and both deal with themes regarding the . However, whereas Texhnolyze Texhnolyze takes a brutally dark, depressing, and nihilistic look at its story and characters, TheJellaxSaga focuses instead on how things are getting better for people. Moreover, whereas in Texhnolyze Texhnolyze many of the changes to humanity (via ArtificialLimbs) was shown to eventually lead to terrible events and tragedies, the Jellax Conversion is shown in one of the most positive lights possible.
*** And finally, of course, TheJellaxSaga has a

*AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Of the intentional variety, in regards to the Jellax and Jamanen.
**Is Jamanen a AllLovingHero kind, merciful, and loving mother who simply loves everybody and wants the best for them? Or is she a cold, calculating TheSociopath sociopath who appears loving so she can take over the world? Somewhere WellIntentionedExtremist in-between? The canon supports the last one, but even then there's so much ambiguity that arguments can be made for any view.
**What about the Jellax? Are they really a higher form of life trying to help the universe or a parasitic alien species that is slowly taking over humanity? Is the intended Jellaxification of all humans an AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence ascension or an ApocalypseHow extinction-level event for humanity? What about the (almost) TheFundamentalist zealous attitudes the Jellax have towards conversion? Jamanen's influence? The nature of being a Jellax? Is being a Jellax so wonderful they just can't stop thinking about giving it to others?
**How about the Guardians? Are they still the same Senshi we know and love? Have their old selves been completely BlankSlate wiped away? TakeAThirdOption Somewhere in the middle?
