Some enjoy having a ninja villain and EvilCounterpart to [[EnsembleDarkhorse fan favorite]] Hattori, while others really don't like her, thinking she's incredibly one dimensional compared to previous villains and having a motive that runs on both InsaneTrollLogic and HonorBeforeReason.

* CompleteMonster: Hazel is a deconstruction and a well done subversion.
** Venus [[spoiler:(or rather Jupiter)]] earned the fans' ire early by [[spoiler:attempting to murder Hazel, but she truly crosses into this by attempting it ''again'', this time by ''stabbing her in the neck'' (thankfully, it was a decoy), and then she goes on to fantasize about murdering Twilight and her unborn child, possibly not even in that order. Not to mention it's heavily implied that she doesn't even actually love Inidouh, she just wants him to suffer for rejecting her. This is proven when she tries to ''kill'' Inidouh without an ounce of remorse. Also, unlike Hazel, the author actually saw fit to ''kill'' Venus off.]]
** Just when you think she couldn't get worse, the blog reveals that [[spoiler:[[http://twixie-answers.tumblr.com/post/30853909968/when-a-devil-plants-a-seed this isn't the first time she's done this.]] [[SerialKiller She kept a list of ponies and the ones crossed out were either killed or missing while the rest had left town]]. Worse? A journal entry reveals she ''killed her own mother'' and doesn't even care. Hazel and Inidouh are very reasonably freaked out to discover this.]]

In an example of CrossesTheLineTwice, she was right in front of him, and he didn't even know it. What's more, because the [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Corrupt Corporate Executives]] called her Maria instead of her real name, Marigold, all of Dazzle's attempts to find her just barely avoided leading him to her.]]
