Moving from soon-to-be-cut NF page.

Added DiffLines:

* NightmareFuel: The scene where it shows a guy [[ItMakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext being eaten by the giant spider's butt]] will make your skin tingle.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: The ''Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000'' crew admitted to enjoying Robert Easton's performance as Dan Kester, who was clearly committed to playing the character as loathsome as possible, and he certainly nailed it.

Designated Hero is for when a heroic character isn't seen as heroic... not just when there's a hero and also you hate the movie. Also, meta moments are not allowed. Also cutting some of the bashing and keep the MST stuff to the episode recap page. Also What An Idiot doesn't work this way anymore.

* DesignatedHero: For the first half of the movie, the only real choice the audience has is to consider ''Dan'' the hero. Well, maybe the sheriff, too, but that option isn't too appealing either.
** In reality, it's Dr. Vance and Dr. Langer who are the heroes of the film, though they aren't terribly appealing themselves.
** In the end, the spiders want to eat these all these people so we don't have to look at any of them or hear their voices ("Vuh-HAANCE!") anymore, which is good! But they might not stop there, which is bad.
* FauxSymbolism: The significance of the preacher's furious sermons is, to put it nicely, unclear. The movie seems to imply that the spider invasion was some kind of judgement from God. Except the movie never says what God is judging, or how that actually ties into the plot, given that the doughy has-beens apparently solved the problem with a non-supernatural solution. If the spiders were a divine judgement, wouldn't it have been more difficult to stop them than that?
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: In a meta-sense: the film was just a bunch of actor friends and their family and friends making a movie because it would be fun.
* HilariousInHindsight: Creator/JoelHodgson actually saw some of this film being made, though it wouldn't appear on ''Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000'' until long after he left (he did at least get to do another Bill Rebane film himself, ''Film/MonsterAGoGo'').

* RootingForTheEmpire: A lot of people root for the spiders to kill off the obnoxious hillbillies. Mike and the bots were amongst them, with one of the ''very first'' riffs on the movie being Crow chanting "GO SPIDERS GO SPIDERS".

** Special mention goes to creepy Cousin Billy.
*** "UsefulNotes/CharlesManson: jeweler."
* SpecialEffectFailure: The ''Volkswagenspinne''. Wide shots usually put a crowd or foliage in front of it so we can't see that its abdomen is rolling along the ground. As if that wasn't enough, it appears to eat people with its butt.

* {{Squick}}: Dan Kester. As if wanting to spank his teenaged sister-in-law wasn't enough, he chases her around the kitchen table in some [[FanDisservice unflattering, filthy and close-fitting pajamas]]. And don't forget that back brace....
-->'''Mike:''' ''(utterly defeated)'' Oh, what a... What a ''handsome'' man.

* WhatAnIdiot: During the climax, the characters need to signal a helicopter with flares. This trope comes into play because of Dr. Vance.
-->'''Servo:''' ''[as Vance]'' On the way to shoot the flares, I forgot them.\\
'''Mike:''' [[SarcasmMode Brilliant plot device,]] "forgetting to do a simple errand".
** The deputy at the end, after running out of bullets when shooting the giant spider, throws his gun at it, before taking off his gun-belt and trying to whip the spider with it instead of just running.
