** Their creatures in ''VideoGame/{{Spore}}''. Giant penis monsters that reach borderline EldritchAbomination levels of nope running around mauling and cock-voring everything in their path. It's even InUniverse too as Arin and Danny keep getting increasingly frightened or disgusted by Ross' increasingly phallic creations.

Not YMMV.

* SurpriseCreepy: Offspring Fling alters the "Arin the Bandit" intro to accommodate the fact that Danny isn't playing. In this one, Arin ''kills'' Danny, and growls "Say it" at Ross, who lets out a terrified "Choo choo."

* HypeBacklash: Arin and Suzy did a playthrough of ''VideoGame/PresentableLiberty'' after Markiplier told them that the game changed his life. At the end, they agreed that it was SoOkayItsAverage. A huge part of the problem was that Steam Train's format is completely unsuited toward playing that game. Just about the entire point of ''PresentableLiberty'' was the sense of [[GoMadFromTheIsolation isolation]] and [[ControllableHelplessness helplessness]] the game builds in the player, which doesn't come across so well when you spend the entire game joking around with your husband/wife, who's ''sitting right next to you''. It doesn't help that Arin, probably the worst person in the entire Steam Train cast to be playing a game like this, was at the controls; case and point, he spent the entire time focusing on the [[StylisticSuck deliberately shoddy minigames]], at times outright ignoring the incoming letters to play them.

Critical Research Failure is a disambiguation page

* CriticalResearchFailure:
** The crew, especially Arin, rails on [[{{VideoGame/Trials}} Trials Fusion]] for being a [[ObviousBeta poorly designed, unplayable mess that is impossible to beat]]. They were playing the LevelEditor...
** Arin also said during part 4 of the ''Sakura Spirit'' playthrough that a {{Tsundere}} is a girl who angrily rejects sex, only for a guy to advance on her anyway, and then [[NotIfTheyEnjoyedItRationalization she decides in the end that she wants it]]. Neither Ross or Danny seemed to realize how inaccurate that definition is.

TRS cleanup

* UncannyValley: "Ellen Degeneres" in their playthrough of ''Dark Souls 2''.
* WhatAnIdiot: While playing ''VideoGame/TheOregonTrail'', Danny and Ross run out of food. [[DramaticallyMissingThePoint Thinking their party members are losing health due to tiredness]], they continually rest at landmarks in hopes that they'll get better. In doing so, [[TotalPartyKill their entire party]] [[TooDumbToLive starves to death.]]

** Fans are unsure whether or not Ross's attitude of being TheLoad during ''Fortune Street'' is charming and silly, or annoying and whiny.

--> '''Dan:''' So all aboard the Steam Train!

** The ''Steam Rolled'' intro:
--> There's four of us, here tonight!
