* SugarWiki/DevelopmentHeaven: The episode features a 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' opening scene of the Earth being blown up. Originally it was simply going to be the Earth blowing up like planets in ''Franchise/StarWars'', one minute it's there, next minute, fireball. The effects supervisors just weren't happy with that and so they came in on their days off and re-did it to the final product. Now, you actually see the oceans boil and fault lines actually crack, as if the Earth spontaneously combusts into dust. When asked who authorized the extra work and why, they said they did it for free. Just because.

* NightmareFuel:
** The destruction of Earth in the teaser, while epic, is still terrifying.
** The ''very not okay'' scene where the bridge gets destroyed and the future crew gets sucked into space.

* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: The teaser, of course, which shows ''the fucking apocalypse'' in tremendous detail. [[MoodWhiplash Roll titles!]] Credit where it's due, it's one of the coolest teasers in the franchise. (And it was only made because the SFX people had nothing better to do.)

* HarsherInHindsight: One of T'Pol's main reasons for helping Phlox in his plan to cure Archer (before it becomes clear that this will prevent the destruction of Earth) is because she's fallen in love with him, and wants the chance of a proper relationship. In actual fact, her actions end up erasing their relationship from history, and causing her to get into a relationship with Tucker instead.

* EarlyBirdCameo: The Xindi Weapon makes a cameo in the teaser (in all its terrifying glory) several episodes before its official introduction. Unlike what would eventually occur, it accomplishes its mission and destroys Earth.

* SpecialEffectFailure: They really put minimal effort into making the cast look older. Connor Trinneer gets a grey streak or two in his hair and Linda Park just gets a cheap wig thrown on her.
