In Splatoon 3 that is no longer an issue as you can skip through news segments as well as listen to them while doing other things in the game.
** Some weren't very fond of their favorite specials being removed when VideoGame/Splatoon2 completely [[DiscardAndDraw traded]] them for entirely new specials to use in the game. Splatoon 3 will not only bring its own new specials, but will return previous ones from older games.
