** Comic: Zantafio, Fantasio's greedy cousin, is considered to be the true BigBad of the series despite his rare appearances. Losing all his redeeming qualities in his second appearance, he became the dictator of Palombia and planned to start a WarForFunAndProfit with another country. After being foiled by Spirou and Fantasio, he later commits robberies and frames Fantasio for it out of spite, and later attempted to kill Spirou and Fantasio multiple times. With no loyalty to anyone, he betrayed his partner-in-crime during the operation; later betrayed Zorglub when working for him; disowned and attempted to kill his own uncle after learning that he knew about the existence of a FountainOfYouth; and manipulated villagers into leading him to said fountain, planning to get rid of them once they're no longer useful. Not above hurting animals, he sold the Marsupilami when he was broke, and attempted to kill Spip when he took his uncle's diary.
** Spirou (1992-1995 animated series): Cyanure--French for Cyanide--does everything her comic counterpart did and goes much farther. When she comes across one of the Count's creations, which can reduce anything or anyone's size, she uses it to reduce anything's and anyone's size for her own amusement. A sadist, Cyanure laughed at Spirou and Fantasio's cries of pain when she uses speakers at maximum volume against them, and laughed at a tied-up mini Fantasio when a toy train was about to run over him. In an attempt to kill all humans by mass-producing herself into an army, she kidnaps Professor Sushiyaka to record his paralyzing scream. When he refuses, Cyanure attempts to kidnap her nephew, and when capturing Fantasio instead, she dismantles and set aflame one of her own clones in front of Sushiyaka and threatens to do so to Fantasio if he doesn't record the scream. Even Cyanure's supposed care about machines when she talks about liberating them from humanity's control is subverted when she badmouths Domus's robots and shows no empathy to their destruction--nor Domus's, who was completely faithful to her--proving that Cyanure ultimately cares for no one but herself.

Foe Yay has been cut

* FoeYay:
** Fantasio and Seccotine. They’re not truly enemies, mind you, rivals at best. But they do occasionally annoy each other.
*** An episode of the second animated series has Zorglub disguise himself as Fantasio and take his place. Zorglub!Fantasio, in contrast to real Fantasio's open dislike, engages in a more joking, flirty antagonism, which Seccotine is happy to play along with -- though after the jig is up, she does note that she should have suspected something.
** Spirou and Seccotine. They get a bit of ship tease through the series. They’re not really enemies per say(in fact, they’re pretty much friends nowadays), but early on, she did annoy Spirou and Fantasio a bit. The ship teasing is especially strong in:
*** “Dreaming Machine”(Machine Qui Rêve), where [[spoiler: at the end, Seccotine and Spirou (or maybe not really Spirou) are seen holding hands...and then it says that she finally found “someone who needs her”.]]
*** “The Origins Of The Z”(Aux Sources Du Z), where [[spoiler: present Spirou meets past Seccotine, who saves him from being arrested for breaking into his own house. They talk for a bit and she notices that there’s something off about Spirou (to her own surprise, she thinks that he’s unusually attractive, especially the way he stares at her). She also knows that something’s wrong because she knows that past Spirou is currently outside the country. Of course, she has no idea that this Spirou is from the future or that time travel exists(or rather, WILL exist) and Spirou can’t tell her because he doesn’t want to alter the timeline. However, Seccotine is persistent and wants to know what’s going on. So, what does Spirou do to shake her off? He pulls her in right out of nowhere and gives her a BigDamnKiss! It was done on impulse and even he’s surprised by what he did. Seccotine is completely stunned and dazed, not even paying attention to Spirou anymore while trying to process what just happened. He then takes advantage of it to finish breaking into his past self’s house to do what he needs to do...all while remarking that he really enjoyed kissing her and that he’s been wanting to do that for a very long time]].

* MagnificentBastard: Zantafio is Fantasio's evil, greedy cousin. While driven by his desire for money and power, he shows to be unexpectedly smart in doing so, keeping tabs on Spirou and Fantasio even when they seemingly joined him and knowing where they would go after sabotaging his third army's equipment (The Dictator and the Mushroom), seemingly torture a fake Spirou to trick Champignac into revealing a book's location (The Gold Maker), immediately attempt to assassinate Spirou and Fantasio the second they set foot on Moscow and later gag Spip to prevent him from untying Spirou and Fantasio with his teeth while they're next to a bomb (Spirou in Moscow), or place a mosquito-attracting transmitter in a nuclear base and release billions of curare-drugged mosquitoes to eliminate all life in the base, allowing Zantafio to take over (Tora Torapa). While achieving several near victories, he even won once against Spirou and Fantasio, using the Zorglwave against them to brainwash them into giving him the Marsupilami, allowing him to sell it (The Wrath of the Marsupilami). Despite lacking any redeeming qualities, Zantafio is considered to be a charming, serious and threatening villain.

* CreatorBreakdown: Franquin in the middle of QRN sur Bretzelburg. His "last" album, Panade à Champignac, can either be seen as an affective goodbye to the series... or as a big "Fuck you, I'm going to work on ComicBook/GastonLagaffe instead".

* FoeYay: Fantasio and Seccotine.
** An episode of the second animated series has Zorglub disguise himself as Fantasio and take his place. Zorglub!Fantasio, in contrast to real Fantasio's open dislike, engages in a more joking, flirty antagonism, which Seccotine is happy to play along with -- though after the jig is up, she does note that she should have suspected something.

Seccotine. They’re not truly enemies, mind you, rivals at best. But they do occasionally annoy each other.

** Spirou and Seccotine. They get a bit of ship tease through the series. They’re not really enemies per say(in fact, they’re pretty much friends nowadays), but early on, she did annoy Spirou and Fantasio a bit. The ship teasing is especially strong in:
