This isn't what happened at all. Gore was clearly being tongue-in-cheek and playing up the gimmick of "ManBearPig", even mocking the snootiness of his character making the boys apologize, and was laughing pretty much the entire time. Quoth the man himself, "I didn't know these guys but I kind of thought they were nihilists of sorts, but funny nihilists."

* MisaimedFandom: When asked about it on Series/TheDailyShow Al Gore was happy to hear the changing viewpoints and for the scene where the boys apologize for not believing him before. Despite that as mentioned above, they still mock him personally for the above reasons.

AST is a trivia trope.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: To the original [=ManBearPig=] episode. Here, Parker and Stone make it clear that global warming is a real threat, not just a fantasy made by Al Gore. That said, they still chastise Gore for the fact that he smugly revels in being proven right without actually doing anything to fix the problem. He is still an AttentionWhore, albeit one that was right.
