* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: At the end of the episode, Gerald is in the lineup of Cartman's potential fathers, one of the only candidates who was never put forth as a possibility during the story. It's never addressed how this leaves a slight possibility of Cartman being half-Jewish and Kyle being his half-brother. Had that idea been raised even a little bit later in the series, it would have been immediately apparent how horrifying both boys would find this notion; as it stands here at the end of Season 1 when they still considered each other friends despite slight friction, it's quietly passed over. As is the fact that, since Kyle and Cartman are the same age, Gerald likely cheated on Sheila that night, though as early as Season 2's "Chef Aid" it's established that there is some openness in their marriage.

* JerkassWoobie: Cartman deserves some sympathy when it's revealed that he's very insecure about not having a father and at one point feels completely heartbroken when he realizes that he might never know who his dad is. To top it all off despite not doing anything too bad in the episode, he's humiliated on TV thanks to Stan and Kyle.
