Now a YMMV trope

Added DiffLines:

* ObviousBeta: Let's run through the basics... There are a lot of game breaking bugs in this port. Some of the environments in the first act, where the titular character can end up trapped in a spike pit with no escape, forcing him to die. The physics and controls are clearly not there. For instance, it's very well possible for Somari to jump and miss a platform or hit an enemy at the wrong time.

** The Crabmeats, originally [[TheGoomba a very pathetic enemy]], are also made the bane of your existence in this game. They move much faster and constantly shoot out of their claws at random intervals, with only a very brief telegraphing of their attack, and they're smaller enough that they're much harder to land a hit on. Combine this with your limited view of whats ahead, sloppy level design and wonky physics, plus the games habit of throwing the crustaceans into your path at every opportunity, and you're forced to move the game at a snails pace just to avoid bumping into them.

* PortingDisaster: While Hummer Team did a pretty impressive job on bringing Sonic's gameplay into 8-bit, that job is not impressive enough to not hurt the gameplay. (although it's arguably better than ''Jurassic Boy 2'' by Sachen)

* PortingDisaster: While Hummer Team did a pretty impressive job on bringing Sonic's gameplay into 8-bit, that job is not impressive enough to not hurt the gameplay. (although controls are much stiffer than the original game, the level designs are sloppier, and the game is overall far more difficult, which all combines to make the game much less playable than the game it's arguably better than ''Jurassic Boy 2'' by Sachen)based on.

* ThatOneBoss: If you thought Final Zone was hard in the original game, this hack manages to make it even harder by introducing some nasty FakeDifficulty. Robotnik's crushers move much faster now, which can not only blindside you, but makes it so that you can't telegraph which crusher you can attack him in, basically turning the fight into a LuckBasedMission where you can just hope you wind up in a spot you can hit him in. And if that wasn't bad enough, the electric sparks he shoots out can now ''change direction'' if you move past them, making them extremely hard to dodge. All this with no rings, and you're in for one nightmare of a fight.
* ThatOneLevel: You thought the Labyrinth Zone in the original ''Sonic 1'' was hard? Wait until you play it in ''Somari''. Water hampers your movement speed even ''further'', which, combined with the rough controls already present in the game, make this zone a nightmare.
