* JerkassWoobie: Gretchen, in light of just how ''broken'' she is as a result of the cover-up. Despite having been a hazing AlphaBitch in her youth, Gretchen notably broke down in tears when the initiation ceremony seemingly ended in Kelly's death, and things only go downhill for her from there. By the present events, she's fallen so far into alcoholism to numb the pain of her guilt that it's cost her custody of her children and is on the verge of tears during her meet-up with her former sorority sisters. She eventually breaks down and storms out, and is later seen at Kelly's grave, begging for forgiveness and even expressing a desire to ''die''. [[spoiler: And after all that, she ends up murdered before she can learn that Kelly's death was not in fact a result of sorority hazing, but cold-blooded murder committed by her FalseFriend Stacey]].
