* TheyCopiedItSoItSucks: Many people have critisised the show for "copying" elements from WesternAnimation/BluesClues. Considering [[WesternAnimation/BluesCluesAndYou a reboot]] would premiere a few months after Ryan's, many questioned the point of using those elements in Mystery Playdate.
* WereStillRelevantDammit: Considering this was based on a kids [=YouTube=] channel, you'd expect that they would throw [[DiscreditedMeme dabbing and flossing]] references into the show, even though it aired in 2019.
** Hell, they even added a selfie stick in season 3.
