** Despite the film including [[{{Franchise/Frozen}} Anna and Elsa]], who are not officially part of the Franchise/DisneyPrincess brand in real life, the many other Disney female leads that have been removed from or considered for the lineup over the years - including [[WesternAnimation/TheHunchbackOfNotreDame Esmerelda]], [[WesternAnimation/AtlantisTheLostEmpire Kida]] and [[{{Film/Enchanted}} Giselle]], just to name a few - are not featured nor alluded to at all.

** In fact, the same could be said about most references in the movie.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Vanellope. While Ralph is justifiably criticized for being overprotective and clingy towards her, Vanellope's own misdeeds are not condemned (even by those who suffer from them). She is seemingly unappreciative of Ralph's enormously impressive effort to save ''Sugar Rush'', which ''she'' broke in the first place, and abandons her game for ''Slaughter Race'', not discussing the move with others. It doesn't help that game-jumping was associated with the BigBad and even Ralph in the previous film; Ralph's actions were not intended to be permanent, not to mention having a much worse situation there than Vanellope does in this film.

* MemeticLoser: The film itself is one to fans of WebVideo/SchaffrillasProductions, as a RunningGag in his videos is to mock this one for being such a downgrade in quality.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Vanellope. While Ralph is justifiably chastened for his overprotective clingyness, Vanellope's own misdeeds don't draw much condemnation from any of the characters (even those who suffer most from them). To wit: she seems to show little appreciation for Ralph's enormously impressive effort to save ''Sugar Rush'' and [[spoiler:she decides to abandon her own game for ''Slaughter Race'' and never bothers to discuss the move or its ramifications with the people she's leaving behind, such as Ralph and the ''Sugar Rush'' racers. Permanently game-jumping was overwhelmingly associated with the villain in ''WesternAnimation/WreckItRalph'']]. The original film even treated Ralph [[spoiler: game-jumping without considering the consequences]] negatively, and he did it never intending to [[spoiler: be gone permanently]], not to mention having a much worse life than Vanellope does in this film.

* HarsherInHindsight: The "Oh My Disney" site Vanellope visits and where she meets the Disney Princesses? It doesn't actually exist anymore. ** The scene where Ralph cuts off a woman's internet connection become [[BlackComedy darkly hilarious]] once grooming and pedophilia allegations came out against the woman's voice actor, with jokes that Ralph saved a kid from her.

* FanonDiscontinuity: Due to the... controversial nature of the ending (with a considerable amount of the fanbase deriding it for breaking the original movie's aesop and turning Vanellope into a DesignatedHero) some fans preferred that the events of this movie did not happen at all, or at least felt like the movie could have ended on a different note.

** [[WebVideo/MirandaSings Colleen Ballinger]]’s cameo as the person who gets her internet connection disconnected thanks to Ralph becomes harder to watch thanks to her recent [[PaedoHunt pedophillia allegations]].

** The scene where Ralph reads the mean comments about him is supposed to be a TearJerker, but the scene is so poorly executed to some that it just comes off as funny. For one thing, the commenters don't know that Ralph is an individual, so in reality they're getting heated and making personal insults about a ''video game meme.''[[note]][[TruthInTelevision Not that this stops certain people on the actual internet from being overly offended by the most minor and harmless of things like this in real life.]][[/note]] Secondly, a movie for children can't exactly get into [[InternetJerk the worst of Internet comments,]] so anybody who's ever been in a comment section on sites like [=YouTube=] has seen much worse that calling someone a "loser" or a "worthless bum" seem rather tame by comparison. Older viewers prefer to quote the internet commenters as a joke (or even [[ReviewIronicEcho use them to make fun of the movie]]) rather than take that scene as a real tearjerker.

* AwardSnub: Downplayed. Many doubted the film would win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature anyhow, as it had to compete with nominees ''WesternAnimation/Incredibles2'' and ''WesternAnimation/SpiderManIntoTheSpiderVerse'', the latter of which ultimately won.

[[TruthInTelevision not that this doesn't]] [[HateDumb actually happen on the Internet, though.]]

* PanderingToTheBase: The movie's detractors accused the entire "Oh My Disney" segment of being a marketing ploy to draw in fans of various Disney brands, especially the Disney Princesses.

* HeartwarmingInHindsight: When Ralph and Vanellope first see Twitter, Grumpy Cat is trending. On May 14, 2019, Grumpy Cat passed away, having already been immortalized in this movie even if the meme eventually dies out.

* NightmareRetardant: The zombie Ralphs are hard to take seriously. The giant Ralph in particular looks goofy being made up of the zombie Ralphs.]]
