* HilariousInHindsight: When the fic was originally written, some ideas ended up becoming true in ''VideoGame/PuyoPuyoTetris2'', such as the inclusion of [[VideoGame/PuyoPuyoQuest Legamünt]] as a playable character thanks to his later inclusion as DownloadableContent in the game, the idea of one member of the BigBadDuumvirate was brainwashed into their actions, and the return of the Tetra Crew.
* TheWoobie: Poor Jennifer can't catch a break. During Puyo Puyo 8 she spends most of the story stuck under Aya's brainwashing, and when she starts to rebel it just brainwashes her more and attempts to marry her. After being freed, it is celebrated by basically nobody except for Moon Snail, with multiple characters gaining the JerkassBall against her and her only. As Tetris Returns follows her quest for acceptance, most attempts fail, culminating in a HeroicBsod when Moon Snail gets brainwashed by Ar, and even after she's able to get out of the rut thanks to Ex and saving the day, she is still treated scornfully by people like Arle, Feli and Klug. It doesn't even end ''there''. When she goes to join the Tetra Crew, she has to leave her OnlyFriend Moon Snail behind to be with them, even if they're able to contact still.
